Help me word this

I am getting married at an Art Museum and during cocktail hour guests will be able to grab a drink and browse the south gallery (the one closest to where the wedding is held). I want to put a printed sign by the guest book telling people they are free to browse the south gallery, however, drinks are not allowed in the gallery (tables will be right outside for people to set drinks and a security guard will be there to remind people who bring them in..) What should say? I was thinking "Please feel free to browse the South Gallery during cocktails.." should I mention "enjoy a drink" too? This should be implied since champagne will be passed during arrival. What about the no drink policy? I am so terrible with words right now! Thanks in advance!

Re: Help me word this

  • I honestly think people will figure it out and the security guard can handle telling people to leave their drinks. If you make a sign, leave out anything about the drinks. Maybe "South Gallery Open For Viewing During Cocktail Hour".
  • My guess is that the museum will put up a "no drinks beyond this point" sign for youIf you need to do your own, something to the effect of "after you've enjoyed a drink, feel free to browse the gallery"

  • Thanks! I think I will leave out the drinks. I just want to say something about the gallery in case people wonder if they can go in it or not. Clearly, I am over thinking this...
  • Please enjoy the drinks and art seperatly!
  • I think people will figure it out.  Mrs. B's option is nice, though.  Not too pushy.  I like it!
