Boudoir Bootyliciousness :)

Ok, that was just to get your attention..I don't even know what that means...Sooo, I am considering doing boudoir photos for my groom gift - Just a question for those of you that have done one: Was it worth the money? I think it would be fun, but I don't know if spending the extra money on something like this would be worth it - or just a waste..since it's not like they can be displayed, etc. Help!

I wondered the same thing.  I opted to do it as more of a late engagement/birthday gift; but certainly debated if I should use the same money to buy that Wii he's been wanting. After doing it and now having just finished putting the book together myself (he gave me all my images on CD and I'm making the book through blurb.com - it has software that's very user friendly to use), I'm glad I did it because I look awesome and he'll love it.  And if he only looks at it once, well it's his loss but for me, it was the greatest gift, outside of myself, that I could give. But don't be surprised cuz years from now, at random periods in time, he'll look at those photos and can't believe someone gave him such a lovely gift. I say do it, have fun and whatever happens, happens.  :-)

Great response! Thank you! Do you mind me asking who you ended up using as the photographer?

I'm considering doing them. I know FI would really like it especially since we both travel for work quite often. I don't think I will do them as a gift for the wedding though. Instead I'll wait for maybe our first anniversary. It just isn't in our budget to add something like that in, and with everything that will be going on around wedding time I'm worried they will get lost in the shuffle, you know?
Oh no we dropped the groom!! imagePlanning Bio UPDATED

It was 100% worth the money. I used Jen from jenerations (review in bio) and LOVED working with her. The pics came out fantastic and the album was amazing. my husband says "its the best book I ever read"I highly recommend her.

I didn't use one of the "traditional" boudoir photographers, opting instead to look for a good, local photographer that has done everything.  I worked with Dominick Conde, whose done all sorts of work - model shoots, headshots, etc., as well as things more on the racier side of boudoir. He'll come to you or a site you pick but also can shoot in his apartment.  Super nice and he didn't limit how many photos were taken.  I wound up with about 600 images that we did over three hours, with four wardrobe changes - all at a good price. But I did like the work of others suggested here, I jsut didn't want to be limited to number of images and wardrobe changes, which is why I sought out someone on my own.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any questions.  :-)

I think DH would have been pretty upset if he found out I went and took these pics in a man's apartment, regardless whether he is a professional photog or not.

It was also his studio and the make-up artist was on site the whole time to touch up my make-up at various points in time.  I don't plan on telling FI this, no need to know but everyone is different and given the final product, he couldn't care. It was more important that I was comfortable and I met him ahead of time to discuss wardrobe and poses and we emailed a few times so when the shooting day came, all was well.  I would have done the shoot at my place if I had the time (FI comes home from work early); he will travel to any location - just an option to use his facility if there's no other place.
  • I highly recommend boudoir photos. They can be extremely classy and uplifting if you get the right photographer. I used celimages (  www.celimagesprovocateur.com ) and they were amazing! My photos came out beautifully and the staff was so professional. Their studio is in Manhattan. Go check out the site if you want to see!
