Furniture, again

I'm on the hunt for more furniture.  Anyone wanna help?  I'm looking for a trio of pieces, preferably.  Here's what I'm looking for.  In a dark stain preferably.1.  A long, low TV console.  Preferably with a couple of doors and or open shelves.2.  A 4  1/2' high, 3 to 4' wide glass front display case.3.  A taller, 5' to 6' high 2 to 3' wide glass front display case.I did find pieces I like on overstock, but they were around $400 each and I would have to put them together.  I'd rather spend more and have them be finished pieces.  And not super pricey.  FI had a heart attack when he saw how much I spent on the entertainment center for the living room.  TIA!

Re: Furniture, again

  • Have you looked in to IKEA at all?  I mean - it doesn't necessarily fit the "more money and have them be finished pieces" stipulation - but most of what you are going to find will be less than $400.  Plus IKEA does sell some rather cruddy stuff but some of it isn't really that bad, nothing super nice or fancy but it looks good.We just got (this past weekend) the Markor TV stand (it's not incredibly low but it does have a wide open middle and 2 doors) and the 2 matching bookcases.  But I know that line does have glass front bookcase/cabinets as well.  Depending on what you are looking to display - there is also a line called Detolf that has completely glass display cases.  They are about 5 1/2 feet tall and about 1 1/2 feet wide (a little skinnier than what you would like) but they display items very nicely.  FI keeps most of his expensive items from his collection (movie replicas, etc.) in 3 of them and they get the job done.Don't know if that helps a whole lot - but maybe?
