online/e-mail save the date suggestions

we would like to send out an online save-the-date (we're a bit late in the game for them but for a number of reasons, it seems like a good idea that we do so ASAP). i looked at a number of evite site likes pingg and evite and i know some wedding websites (such as this one) also have them. the problem is i really want to include a poem, and it seems most sites don't offer the text space/customization i would need to do so. this has led me to think i should design it from scratch and put it on a website rather than an email, and instead just send people the link, but it seems a bit labor intensive. anyone have suggestions? something that will allow me a fair amount of customization and text space but less time-consuming than creating a page and designing the layout myself from scratch? ideally i would love it to be in flash, with the poem as the first part and the save the date info second. tia for any help!

Have you tried mypunchbowl.com? I think they have a few with the room for a poem, and if not, they offer the ability to send one in the body of the email you sent to your folks. HTH!

Why not create them, save as PDFs and attach to emails?

and oh, if you are looking for an easy flash design page, try wix.com. I used that for my wedding website (and bio in my link, too) and it's super easy and fast- just use one of their templates, edit it and link to it. Do remember that not everyone has flash installed though, so it may not be viewable by all. Personally, I think for STD's attaching PDFs to emails would be easiest to ensure everyone gets it.

2 months to go?  skip the STDs altogether.  it's time for actual invites.

Yup! I'm with B & Fishy. You should  just go ahead and get the invites out now. We will be sending ours out 2 months ahead, as well. If not earlier (we have several OOT guests).
