OK to add store to registry on website?

I created my cousin's wedding website for her. Her wedding is 2 months away, the invitations just went out less than a week ago. She has her registry info on her website and wants to add one more store onto her registry. Is this tacky or is it ok to do? I'm curious. I have no idea if there's any etiquette surrounding adding stores onto your wedding website when it has already went "live" for guests to view.

Re: OK to add store to registry on website?

  • I don't know the etiquette, but I don't think it's a big deal.  It's just a suggestion if someone checks the website again - it's not like you're calling everyone and making an announcement about it.  I don't think it's any different than changing items on a registry once it's been viewed by guests.
  • How many stores does she currently have listed?
  • I think it's fine.  I added a charity registry after the website went live - so I have Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn & the charity registry.  And after packing our crap up to move this weekend, I'm hoping most people will go with the charities!!
  • She has 2 stores listed right now. She found a third one that carries organic linen towels that she wants to add.
  • Giggle...adding a store just for the organic linen towels?  Probably not something I would do.  Are there no towels in the other two stores that will suffice?
  • I don't think having 3 stores listed is bad.  I probably wouldn't add any more after that, though.  And, it's fine to add it even after the site went "live" for guests.
  • She loves these towels and wants them to try them. I'm not going to tell her what to put on her registry, it's not my place. But I was wondering if it was poor etiquette to add a store.
  • i just think it's silly to have a registry for only one item.  can't she use some of the cash from the wedding to just buy them?
