Guy Food Ideas

I'm helping our BM out with the bachelor party by making food to help keep costs down. They are going to pick it up from our house before the party starts. Any good ideas for "guy" type BBQ food side dishes that will keep up for a few hours? Recipes are a plus! TIA

Re: Guy Food Ideas

  • Google "buffalo chicken dip."  FI loves it and it's great with chips or veggies.

  • Potato Salad, Potato Skins, Potato Chips ... anything potato I think. My FI also loves pasta salad (the type with italian dressing)I don't know if you are doing strictly bbq theme but if not...You could get a large can of nacho cheese, put it in a crock-pot with some salsa or chili and have other nacho topping items.  Always seems to be a hit. Also frozen meatballs and a can of mushroom gravy in a crockpot for a few hours.Lil smokies and bbq sauce in a crockpotAnything in a crockpot or electric roaster you can keep warm for a few hours.
  • Anything meat or potatoes based.  I made an awesome potato bacon salad that was a huge hit, and taco dip always goes over really well.  Baked beans in a crockpot works well.  So does spinach artichoke dip.  You could do sloppy joes or shredded beef/pork.Cookies or bars are always a pretty big draw too.  Nothing fancy, chocolate chip cookies or brownies usually does the trick.
  • If you have a crockpot- this is always a fav: http://tinyurl.com/nomx9n you don't have to put in green chilies Serve with chips. or you can just have the guys warm it up in the microwave.
  • I second Buffalo Chicken Dip...I could eat a whole bowl myself.
  • Thanks Ladies for the ideas! Mocha-How hard is the potato bacon salad to prepare?
  • My H loves deviled eggs! Boil some eggs peel scoop out the yolk add to taste: mayo mustard worcestershire sauce (just a few sprinkles) salt pepper some people like to add relish or pickles, pimentos, olives, etc. Go crazy!
  • Beef jerky. Put it in a bowl and let them go at it :)
  • And a big yes to buffalo chicken dip.Just thought of two more: little smokies and bacon wrapped pineapple
  • I used this recipe:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Red-Skinned-Potato-Salad/Detail.aspxI added some mustard and added more onions, cause I love them.  It was pretty easy cause I didn't have to peel the potatoes.  Cut the bacon up small, like Bacos bits size small.  It was a huge hit, everyone devoured it.
