How irritating...

FI and I just got back from out of town to find that his cousins wife (a cousin he is particularly close to) left a huge post on facebook explaining why they can't come to the wedding, and we haven't even sent the invites yet.  Her excuses were many and paper thin and now FI is super disappointed. Does anyone else find this a bit odd, or has anyone else had this happen?I'm just a little thrown because I kind of thought that was what response cards are for, plus they haven't even gotten an invite yet.

Re: How irritating...

  • LOL! Sorry! I would have rang the bell but it was broken and I guess I didnt knock loud enough! ;)
  • lol, I should do that NF.  I guess the STD's kinda foil that one unfortunately, but I wonder if she thought those were the invites?
  • Dayummm those STD's! Always ruining things! Lol. Did they said "invitation to follow?"
  • I don't get why this is annoying. Wouldn't you rather know now than at the last minute?

  • The irritating part comes with a back story that I didn't want to get into.  We know his cousin wants to come but isn't allowed to, he told us that.  Her excuses are very weak and we have already heard through other family members that she was attempting to come up with a good excuse to not have to go--and he post was super long.  FI is pretty hurt since they used to be best friends and grew up together and now they are never even allowed to see each other.
  • allowed???? How old is this person??
  • Okay, that is irritating. Why isn't he "allowed"?

  • One of THOSE situations! (My favorite I-found-out-you-want-to-break-up-so-oops!-my-pill-failed!)  I would be annoyed too, just send a reply card back when you get the invite, why post that all over FB.  But sadly, unless his cousin gets the balls to get out of that relationship, everyone's going to have to deal. He's a grown man, and only he can stand up to his biiitchy wife. No one can do it for him. Sad.
