Is it bad to have...

a song with lyrics while the bride is walking down the aisle? My supervisor keeps showing his disgust for the song I picked for my walk, and I didn't even bring it up. I really don't like any of the instrumentals I've heard though....FYI, I picked "The Luckiest" by ben Folds.

  • There's nothing wrong with walking down the aisle to a song with lyrics.  Don't let your supervisor make you second-guess yourself.
  • If it's bad, then I'm bad, because I'm walking down to a song with lyrics.

  • Somehow I doubt the audience will be paying so much attention to the song lyrics that they'll forget to notice the bride.Go with what makes you happy :)
  • Hey stina, what song do you want to walk down to? I don't think it's wrong. I would like to walk to From this Moment on by Shania Twain
  • I 'm finding out that most people just like to hear themselves talk. I'm walking to a song with lyrics. I think it's great. You have to tune out most people.
  • As long as the lyrics aren't offensive to anyone you should walk down the aisle with whatever song you want.  Don't worry about what anyone else thinks.  I've had some ideas about my wedding that have earned me an odd look or two, but those things are happening because that's what my FI and I want.
  • haha, CS, I know. I think I will too, but it has the chords I like with meaningful lyrics....and the only part I am worried about in the lightest is the part where he singabout the old guy dieing, but again, I don't think it will play that long. The aisle isn't that long.

Not at all. If the song means something to you, then use it. It's a lovely song. The part about the old man and his wife ALWAYS makes me cry. Always. It is such a sweet song.

  • We're doing our entire procession to "Today" by Joshua Radin.  Our good friend--who is a musician--is singing it.  I think walking down to lyrics is more meaningful.LOVE that song, by the way.  Great choice.
  • My processional song is a christmas song with lyrics.  The wedding is in November.  I don't care. I like the music and the lyrics make it easier for the bridal party to know when to walk.  lol...
  • He needs to mind his own business. Do what YOU want.
