this is why i don't have a desire for behbehs...

A friend of mine's cell phone is broken.  Why?  Her baby peed on it.  How she managed that I do not know... but still...

  • Sometimes, I really feel the same way.  Especially when they are so loud, you can't think.  It is different when they are yours says parents.
  • I'll add that to my list.We just got asked the baby question and we hemmed and hawed our way through it.  I hate that question.
  • Right - that's the baby's fault. Not the mother who put the phone in a place where it would get peed on.

  • It is different when they are yours says parents. they say that in hopes that you'll become a parent too. misery loves company and all that.
  • i can't wait to have a little one to pee on my phone.

  • I definitely want at least one child someday. I watch my nephews a lot, and sometimes it just gets so tiring. I couldn't imagine having one right now, but maybe in about 4-5 years.
  • I don't care who's fault it is.  The kid still peed on her phone.

  • I find it funny when people are appalled at this but when its a dog its not so bad or its the owners fault.Don't get me wrong if you don't want kids don't have them.  I wish more people would make that decision honestly, some people are terrible parents.

Was it under warranty at least? Haha. Imagine having to explain that to customer service "Uh, yeah I need to replace my cell phone. My son peed on it. Yeah."

  • Blame the parent not the baby. Was her phone on the floor where it shouldnt be?
  • I don't know where the phone was, I don't know where the 1 year old child was.  Not really something I felt the need to ask.

  • Damn, did she leave it in the diaper or something? It would take a lot of pee to kill a cell phone.

  • I am currently interning at Sesame Place, a theme park built around the Sesame Street TV show. ALL of out clientele is children under 8 and their parents. I haven't wanted children since I was 14 but this job has just cemented that idea firmly in place. It is amazing the things that children do and the things their parents let them do. Don't get me wrong! I love walking up to a 4 year old and asking if they met their favorite character today, but if I had to take them home and feed them and all the other responsibility that comes along with kids I'd go nuts!
  • WOW! I'm slightly amazed at how many ppl are so negative about kids. I've been a mom for 4 years and while my son has done some pretty crazy things it's nothing that I wouldn't have done or even did as a child. I wouldn't change it for the world. Maybe it's good you guys don't have kids yet, you're obviously not ready to enjoy it if you think it's all about dirty dipers, crying and peeing on cell phones. BTW: my son has thrown my cell into the bathtub numerous times as well as the toliet and it still works, most likely your friend just doesnt want to use her phone since their child peed on it.
  • I'm not necessarily negative about children, I just know parenthood is not for me.  Some people are not cut out for it, and one of those people is me.

  • I have two kids, and I wouldn't go back to anything under 6yrs old ever again. Babies are hard work, and I'm not prepared to revert to the baby/toddler days. I like that I can have conversations with my girls that they understand. I don't judge at all those women who admit to not wanting or liking babies. I don't particularly like babies other than my own myself. I'd rather hear that than the women who spit magic and unicorns and sunshine about every waking second of their child's life. "Little Brayden made a poopie!" facebook status updates make me want to smack women who've compromised their identities to the point that babyshit is the highlight of their day.
  • And Bec, you totally nailed it. I LOVE my daycare toddlers, but I'm so glad to send them home at the end of the day and be able to have an adult conversation. There's only so much you can talk to an 18 month about.
