Adult only wedding

I am getting married next October. Our ceremony and reception is on the same grounds. We want this to be an adult only party.I was thinking of putting ___ seats reserved in your honor on rsvp cards.... but as someone pointed out to me if you put 2 and someones spouse cant make it will they may bring a child instead beacuse i out 2 seats?  any suggestions? I am making it very well known to anyone who asks about the wedding that we r not inviting any children

Put the exact names on the invitation so they don't assume they can bring a child in lieu of a spouse.  If someone edits the response card, you'll have to call them and explain that it is adult only.  Word of mouth should help as well.

Then just put Mr Homer and Mrs Marge Simpson. With no mentionof bart maggy or lisa. If Marge calls and asks you say that although you live her kids it is simply not possible to include them in the wedding invite and you hope to see them another time soon. If you write 2 seats reserved and homer does not want to attend well you have already reserved 2 seats and she can bring bart.

You will only address the invites to the adults, plus say 2 seats.Some people even go a step further and personalize each response card for each guest.

On the response card, you could put their names.  John Doe ___ will ___will not attend. Jane Doe ___ will ___ will not attend. Then there's no place to write in a random kid.

-ditto Leah.  My DD personalized her response cards before mailing them out.Two people still wrote in additional names  **sigh**
