NWR: Blythe dolls or other needful things poll

I just remembered something I've wanted forever but never bought for myself. I want a Blythe Doll! I have for years. I think I'm going to ask for one for my birthday. Or Christmas. I want a Blythe doll, and I want it NOW! (Veruca Salk style)What's something you have wanted forever but never want to waste the money on?

Re: NWR: Blythe dolls or other needful things poll

  • I want an automatic lap pool.  I would never spend the $20,000-40,000 they cost though.  I lurve swimming though.

  • Eyelash extensions.
  • Ha.  That was just wishful thinking.  If my ex were dead I wouldn't care about how happy he is.

  • They were huge in the 70s, and my cousin had one when I was very little. Now they're collectable, and I can never justify spending $500 on a doll. But I love her! You can also buy clothes for her. I want a Blythe!
  • Eames lounge chair and ottoman. I may buy one after the wedding.
  • vacation homes are always a good idea :)a mini-cooper (for driving in the city, i'd never take it on the highway)a new flat ironpaint to paint my rented housea dome litter box that sweeps the stuff away on it's owna new tv (the one in the bedroom fades in and out of colour)

  • New camera.New clothes.Flat screen TV (we'll probably buy one around Christmas, finally).
  • Buy one, Bec! I still have a Groovy Girl that I buy clothes for. A Blythe is way better.
  • Wading, I understand completely. I'd never wish death on him, but if The Ex died today I'd have a celebratory shot on his tombstone in the middle of the night. And his littleslut too.
  • oooh, I hear ya on the Eames chair. I have some awesome MOD furniture thanks to where I work, but we never commissioned Eames. :( I'd love to have a piec or two! Mandy, why would you never take a mini on the highway? FI has a new one and an old one, and we love taking the new one on the highway.
  • I don't really want him dead.  And mostly I'm happy for his happiness.  But some days I just wish it had never happened.

  • I want one of the new Dell Mini's in pink. I always get that damn commercial song stuck in my head too. But anyways, I need a new laptop. I feel like my hard-drive is just going to crash anytime.
  • A nose job and hair removal.  Mine are so vain : (A BlueRay DVD player.
  • Too small.  I wouldn't feel safe and I drive 5 hours to go "home" then 3 hours to the ILs.

  • I've considered buying a knock-off but I know I'll never be happy with it. Or vintage, but they're pricier than the new ones now!
  • Those really awesome washer and dryers and stove that it's the kelly ripa commercial? electrolux? They look so awesome!

  • The electrolux stuff IS awesome.  I just wouldn't get the ceramic cooktop again.  I knew there was a reason I never wanted it.    But FI and I compromised - he got ceramic cooktop, I got double ovens.  Now I can't use my cast iron pan AND it's impossible to keep clean.

  • Ditto whit. I want a new washer/dryer (the red ones, on the stands, preferably), and stainless appliances for my kitchen (even though my dishwasher is relatively new and we still don't use it...FI washes all of our dishes by hand. Love that kid.)

  • Wading - do you know if the ceramic cooktop does that cycling thing on the burners? I have a glass top, and the burners cycle, so it's impossible to keep a rolling boil (like I need for canning). FI and I agree we need a new stove before next canning season (and have no idea how we're going to can this year).

  • Boobs.  I want boobs.I have lost 30lbs. in the past 2 years and was a full B when I began.  I can't even fill an A now and it makes me sad :(
  • Laser hair removal.
  • Keeping a rolling boil doesn't seem to be a problem at all for us.  I just wish we'd gone for gas.

  • FI refuses to let me have gas. (teehee, I'm 12). Anyway, he swears the propane bill is expensive enough without a stove added to the bill. (This is probably because he sees it all at once when we have the tank filled rather than one month at a time like our other bills.) I've never cooked with gas though...not sure how much of a difference it really makes.

  • It depends.  I've seen reviews that the new electric ranges are just as good as gas.  And most rate electric ovens higher than gas.  So even if FI and I had gone with gas, it would've actually been dual fuel.  Gas range, electric oven. Also, I'm often amused when I realize people don't actually have natural gas actually piped into their home like water.  I guess I just take it for granted :)

  • I used to as well. The house I lived in growing up had it, then I moved to my apartment where everything was electric (including heat)...yay for low utilities. FI grew up on a farm and is used to the propane tank and rationing it. I am not. He turns the heat way down on me in the winter, and I crank it back up to go to sleep. It's going to take some adjusting on both of our parts, I think :) Bonus though, we read our own water meter and round it out, so even with 18 head of livestock, our water bill is less than it was in the city. This is all information I wish I didn't know and would gladly trade for my new dining room table or stove :)
