Boxes for Leftover Cake

A friend of mine suggested that we get little boxes and have the leftover cake boxed so that our guests can take some home with them.  My family will not be able to take it because they live too far away and the cake won't keep on their trip home.  I have been looking around and have found plastic bags that are affordable, but small boxes seem expensive in the craft stores (Michael's, Joann's, etc.).  Did anyone get boxes online?  If so, where and what kind?  I'd prefer boxes since it seems like bags would be messy.

Oh there's tons of sites that have decent prices.  You might have to assemble them yourself.  A bag would be way too messy.  I would NOT take any cake if you were handing out bags.

How expensive are they? You can't find cheap paper boxes at Michaels. Don't they sell those chinese take-out containers for a $1.00?

You can try a store like The UPS Store and if you buy in bulk they should give you a discount. They have gift boxes that are white and are die-cut, or at least they should be able to order them.

Check saveoncrafts dot com. I'm sure they've got some boxes for cheap.

I think I found a site on saveoncrafts.  Thanks!  If anyone else actually used boxes and has suggestions on a good size to get or a type of box that worked well for the cake, please let me know.

Or you could ask your baker/caterer.  They already get bulk pricing on supplies so it could cost less if they charge you.
