Do I understand this correctly?First you must go to the Social Security office and have your SS card changed, THEN you go to the DMV?  Am I forgetting anything?This is all so annoying...

    bring your marriage license everywhere! LOL! the SS office in the theater district seems to be a breeze for everyone who's been there (less than 15 min waiting time). GL!

    I went to social security first and then did the dmv but the dmv didn't ask for my social security card.  you just have to bring the marriage certificate with you.  i don't think it matters what order you do it in.  when I went to social security they didn't ask me for my license and dmv didn't ask me for social security card.  so strange but I did go with my passport and birth certificate just in case.

    Ditto Caitrus, as long as you have your marriage cert, it doesn't matter which one you do first.

    You can print the forms off of DMV web site before going to save time !

    I just went to the office on W. 48th a few weeks ago and I was in and out in under 20 minutes. They only asked to see my marriage certificate.

    yes the w 48 st location. ditto PP said- print out the DMV forms ahead of time. and don't go on a friday afternoon! i waited for 4 HOURS at the herald street location when i went. it SUCKED!!!!
