Dress Depressed

I went to a bridal shop today for a sale.Sad... very sad.I found this dress[IMG]http://i29.tinypic.com/22hw7q.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i30.tinypic.com/2m7uuzq.jpg[/IMG]When I first saw it, I didn't think it would flatter me at all, but it was perfect in every way.  The associate zipped it up and all I could say was, "OMG I love it."  The problem-  I told her my price range could not exceed $800.  This dress cost $2500!?!?!Dream shattering news.  I feel like I just want to get married in a potato sack now, because it feels like nothing will compare.

buy it off preownedweddingdresses.com or see if you can get a used one. Or cut your budget elsewhere and buy the dress.

Ouch, why'd she put you in a $2500 dress if she knew you could only spend $800?  That's mean.

That stinks.  Could you try finding a pre-owned one?Lesson to everyone else, don't try on dresses outside of your budget.

Can you find any dresses similar to that but at a lower price. I was going to suggest the pre-owned route but others already did. Could you find one and have it modified to look like that?

Well, I think I really limited the lady's ideas when I said I didn't want strapless or halter, so she put me in this.

Do you know the designer/style number? I ask because plenty of girls sell their dresses. Some of them are even still new because they found a different dress...

I know this isn't nearly the same thing, but your dress reminded me of a dress I saw at David's Bridal with a keyhole back: http://tinyurl.com/ma5yzjThe keyhole back is under "alternate view." It's $599, and I would have tried it on myself if I hadn't gotten my dress already. I know what it means to be on a dress budget. Good luck!

Ask if you can buy the sample. It won't get it down to $800 but it might get you a price you are more comfortable with.

I actually already tried on that one at DB,  it just didn't fit me right at all.   Not the size, but just the overall cut of it.

Dagny-  Thanks, I saw that one, I just think its too tight fitting towards the bottom, I wonder if it could be altered to not fit as closely in the leg area?

I haven't gotten my dress altered yet so I have no idea, actually.  Yeah, I guess the ability to walk on your wedding day would be kind of important, huh? :)The original dress you posted is gorgeous, by the way.  I'm trying to see if I can find a similar one for you at David's of Alfred Angelo.  So far, no luck.

I've seen a few people mention netbride.com... Sadly I didnt hear about this site until after I bought my dress. I decided to get a quote on it to see if I got a good deal, and sure enough the dress was $500 cheaper on netbride. I doubt they can reduce a $2500 dress to $800 but it may be worth a look anyways.

I LOVE this same dress! I tried it on at the Demetrios store and they told me it was around $1500.  I can't remember the exact price now but it was around there.  Does NetBrides.com sell real dresses or fake replicas??  Thanks
