What is the plate warmer setting on the dishwasher used for?  Does anyone actually warm plates with them?I just can't foresee a time in my life that will necessitate warm plates.

I feel special right now...I'm pretty sure I didn't read anyone respond with what the plate warmer is used for. Anyway, it comes in handy when you are canning. The jars need to be warm when they are filled at then put into the water. If you put cold jars into water that is almost boiling they will break & you'll have a real mess. No I do not can.

I'm way late in this post, but I have an aunt that warms plates before we eat.  We also eat salad last. (so we can eat the food while its hot)
