So it doesn't get buried :)It may vary according to county but here's my experience.After I got back the certified copy of my marriage certificate, I took one and went to the local ss office. All I had to do was present my current social security card, id (driver's license), and the marriage certificate. Then you write your new name/last name and verify all the info. Then I took the same marriage certificate (they gave it back, my understanding is they don't always so have a couple) to the DMV to get the name changed on my license.Hope this helps!
