What happened with shuttle? Were you able to wait it out for the Thursday into Friday launch?

nope. Dang work... I had to get back. DH was able to stay the whole time with MIL and FIL to see it launch. I'm really sad that I didn't get to see it, but I think we're going to try and plan to go out for another one before the whole shuttle program gets wiped out. omg your FIL declined to be on Colbert? Why?Sorry you missed the launch, but glad your DH got to see it. I would love to see one too, especially a night launch. I have the same problem you did though, I'm worried I'll take off work, go out there go to all the trouble & expense and it'll get scrubbed.

yeah, FIL declined. He's not into the show at all - and heard that he can make people look fool... and wasn't willing to risk it for the sake of nasa, and his job. nasa didn't encourage it, either... so he didn't do it.

Yeah I figured it was something like that. I'm not sure I'd be so jazzed to go on either now that I think about it.

yeah, being on the other end of the table, defending your project that you've dedicated the last 4 years. I think the show is great -- but would never interview on it.
