Glass vs. Plastic

We're serving BBQ "type" food .. we're thinking about renting plates, silveware, and a water glass for the table. We are giving wine glasses as favors, so those will also be at the tables. We're also doing linens-not plastic table clothes or napkins.What do you think about serving all other drinks (ie: beer, cocktails, soda) in plastic? Have any of you ever ordered "personalized" plastic cups? I'm going back and forth whether it truly matters or not....

I think it all depends on the setting.  If you're doing BBQ and it's a casual outdoor setting, then I think plastic fits.  If it' a little nicer, real table settings, ect I think it doesn't fit.   It's all about the continuity. Does plastic match the rest of the event, or no?

Where are you having your wedding and how many people. If it were me and I was going with linens/plates/silverware/water glasses I would go all out and get glasses for the other drinks too.

I'd just order regular glassware. It will match the level of formality as you've described.

I had linens and all my serving ware was plastic. My caterer suggested it, and my crowd was fine with it. Especially with cocktails, I wouldn't mind plastic.

just get clear plastic not red or blue.
