pay for BM hotel rooms?

Hi,I looked for this post, but couldn't find it. I'm having an OOT and my guests and family members are already flying in. The hotel will give a discount to blocks of rooms, but should I pay for my BM's rooms? There are four of them. I gave them a color and length for their dresses, they have such different styles, so I think with them buying their own dresses and flights, that the rooms should be on me. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: pay for BM hotel rooms?

  • Technically you are not obligated to pay for their travel expenses, but if you want too I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

  • Definitely not required, but if you have the money in your budget it would be a nice gesture.
  • No, you definitely don't have to buy their rooms. Some brides do, though, which is really nice.
  • You are not obligated to but it is a lovely gesture and very generous
  • You don't have to, but it would be nice. Are they coming alone? If so, you could get a big suite and offer them the option of staying there with you.
  • My parents wanted to give me money toward my wedding expenses and I didn't really expect the help so I asked if they could put it toward hotel rooms for my bridal party instead.  (BP is 2 sisters, 2 nieces and a cousin)  So my parents are paying for everyone to stay for 2 nights where we are getting married and everyone really appreciated not having to worry about that extra expense on top of their dresses, shoes, travel expenses, etc.  Like pps said, it is a nice gesture if you can fit it into your budget but I doubt they expect it.

  • We picked up the cost of hotel rooms for our wedding party members who had to fly to be at our wedding.

  • Not required, even with a DW, but we're paying for accommodations for our WP.  They are our closest friends, and we wanted to make the trip easier on them money-wise.  We're all staying at one place together - renting it out - and I'm really looking forward to it.
