Hotel Problem...

This isn't a huge problem...just something I feel weird about.We are going out of town with some of our friends, requiring us to get hotel rooms.  There is an odd couple - so one couple will have to stay by themselves.  They'll have to pay the whole price instead of splitting it with others...which sucks.  How do we figure out who is going to pay more?  I hate being in this situation!

are there single bed rooms available? I would personally take the total cost of all rooms and divide evenly. This is the most fair way.

I think Michi's way is the best plan all-around. It's fair to everyone, and then nobody is footing an extra bill all by themselves.

Divide the cost evenly no matter who gets to stay in that room. Or, ask if someone would rather pay the extra to stay there.

I second the notion to add up the total cost and divide by the number of couples.

I agree with everyone else if that is what you want to do.  But then you need to figure out who gets the room to themselves.  Personally I would rather not share with some else.
