who should I address it to?

ahh P&E gods help me... I'm wanting to get my invites out tomorrow so I'm addressing them now - I'm doing pretty good with them except for one small dilemma.  How do I address an invitation to my nieces father - my niece is 13 and also one of my bridesmaids - do I simply put his name on it? Do I put both of their names on it? I don't have inner envelopes so I can't do the standard of putting childrens names on the inner envelope only - so I'm a tad confused. TIA

Re: who should I address it to?

  • you're only inviting the niece and her father? Make the invite out to Neice Father LastnameNiece LastnameAddressState, Zipcode

  • Same as you would any other kid. All names go on envelopes including kids if no inner envelopes  . If someones name is not on the invite they are not invited. So if you do not put neices name on the envelope you are not inviting her  which is a mixed message since she is an bm
  • thanks - I figured I would put both my niece and her dads name on there somehow, but wasn't sure if that was right or how to order it - I know that for a lot of the people in my family that have a lot of kids (we are Irish Catholic we breed) I'm just doing the generic "and family" - hopefully people can figure it out, but if I put everyone name it will take up half the envelope o.0
  • The problem with and family is that if you invite the Simpsons meaning the 5 ( homer ,marge bart lisa maggy) when you write and family that could include abe , the bouvier sisters ectInstead write out all the name individually to avoid additional guests you do not want to pay for that you really did invite
  • I don't know the proper etiquette, but I would probably just do: Mr. John SmithMiss Jane SmithAddress
  • ffmaid - while typically that is true, it's also my family so all the people you listed are invited anyway and get their own invitations - I don't think that with my side of the family anyway it will cause any confusion - and seriously, I have uncles with 8 kids - I'm not listing 10 names on an invitation.
