Disney Wedding

I've searched the boards but nothing came up about anyone having a Disney Wedding so sorry if this is a double post.  My FH has been hinting he would prefer to have a Disney wedding in Disney World.  I'm not so sure about it as I would love to have my family and friends attend.  His family is all will to travel and some of my friends and family out right will.  Some even live in Fla.  Has anyone been to/planned a Disney Wedding?  Pros/Cons?  Questions you would have asked prior to making your decision?  Any help or advice would be appreciated.  I can't seem to have a "this would be better because" idea in my head.

• Best idea evar! Who wouldn't want wedding pics like this? So tell me, is this a kids only reception? Only those under the age of 13 invited?
• NAMBLA = North America Marlon Brando Look Alikes
• Disney has their own wedding website.  Google it.  I watched a special on TV about Disney weddings... They were really cheesy looking... They had mickey mouse ear accents everywhere.... I dunno... I thought it looked tacky.
• OMG I LOVE DISNEY!  Me and my fiance are doing a disney theme centered around Cinderellas glass slipper.  Nothing too crazy, just a lot of glass decorations, We're doing little slipper tasty favors, all of our centerpieces will have little glass slipper votive candles.  Then during our first dance, my FI is going to turn into a pumpkin.  It's gonna be awesome.

• I will never understand Disney weddings. I understand maybe liking castle- or princess-like decorations, but to actually have a Disney wedding seems so bizarre to me.  I've never heard of anyone having a Warner Brothers wedding at Six Flags. Why does he want this?

• It's only tacky if you're of the age where you can legally vote.

• I would ask myself if I really wanted to marry this guy?  He agreed to a disney wedding.

• My MOH was planning her vow renewal at Disneyland before her DH got laid off and it got postponed.  My sister had looked at the Disney wedding packages, but they were way too expensive.Pros: Full-service planning, one stop shopping, some really gorgeous venues, the capacity to handle any size weddingCons: Very much not cheap, can't bring in outside vendors, some particular venues have time restrictions (as I recall, you can get married at the World Showcase at Epcot but only from 9-11am.Price it out, see if it works for you.  You don't have to incorporate any Disney into the wedding itself if you don't want to.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
• Actually, I found out that Six Flags does in fact have weddings... I was at a bridal show and they had a booth about getting married at 6 flags STL.
• But the Marlon Brando Look Alikes are way cooler.

• Totally agree with you Sarah.
• I don't see anything wrong with using Disney World as a venue, from what I've seen they have some beautiful places.  What gets me is anything beyond that, or when it's actually called a "Disney wedding" with disney details and music and wedding dresses. Not even all of those, but any one or two of those things.  I really like America's next top model and it has helped shape me as a person if you count shaping what I think about clothes, but I did not give out mini chocolate Tyras as favors.  BECAUSE THAT"S NUTS. I don't care who the fuuck I offend, anyone who thinks that is normal is fuucked up in the head. Disney "theme" is not the same thing as a beach theme.  It's just plain crazy.

• I'm sure they allow weddings, but I worked there for 2.5 years and there was never a single wedding there. I even worked in the catering grove, which held company picnics and such, and there was never one wedding.

• I was at Disney World when I was 12. There was a wedding going on with a beautiful backdrop and just a lovely area. The problem? Mickey f*cking Mouse was walking the bride down the aisle... seriously, picture that for a moment. At age 12 I thought it was awesome, not so much now.

• Oh, isn't there a line of wedding dresses modeled after the Disney princesses now?

• FI and I are reenacting The Little Mermaid at our ceremony.  He really wanted to do Cinderella, but that's such a cliche and besides I have red hair, so being Ariel just makes sense!!1!
• I think people who are obsessed with Disney stuff over the age of oh say, 16 are just weird.  There are few few things in this world I hate more than seeing people wear f*cking disney characters on their clothing.  YOU ARE AN ADULT.

• Yeah FI & I saw an ad the other day and I was like "Let's do that for our honeymoon instead." And we both basically laughed. I felt kind of bad because my cousin and her husband did 14 years ago, but I just don't get it.

• I will say, this thread has given me quite a craving for a churro and a ride on Space Mountain.  I had been planning on buying my Annual Pass when my sister comes to visit next month, but maybe I'll go this weekend instead.

• I'm not gonna lie. I have an unhealthy fondness of Disney. Some people think it's weird, but I don't mind. I actually wanted to do a Disneyland wedding, until I saw how much they were. Some people just have certain things that they're really into, and would like to incorporate that into their wedding. Whether it be Star Wars, WoW, or Disney, there's gonna be someone out there who thinks it's weird. You can't please everybody. Then again, maybe I'm not the best judge. I've got two Lion King tattoos, and gonna get a Mickey, and I've got a hidden Mickey on my e-ring. Talk about a nutcase.
