OOT

I've been to Capri years ago as a child.  I will be going back this Spring.  Recommendations? We don't have a budget and enjoy wine and balconies if that helps at all...If we decide to take a ferry and not fly over, any cute towns we should check out other than Psoitano (been there) ?

Re: OOT

  • You have to take a ferry unless you find a place to land your personal helicopter.  Take the fast one though.Take the tube up to the center of Capri, they will transfer your bags and cabs are pointless. There is Capri and Anacapri.  Anacapri is more expensive and there are no places to swim other than pools.  There is a lift to the top, single chairs, and the views are fantastic.Do you mean Positano?  That is on the Amalfi coast, not on the island of Capri.I stay mostly with friends but if you want a good hotel & restaurant guide for Capri, get a Frommers for Italy.  They are spot on for the majority of Italy.
  • Thanks!  I'm typing fast and not fully concentrating.  Forgot about no flights to the island.  I know Positano isn't on Capri.  I meant do you have any other mainland town recommendations? I'll have to research some of your other recs. Thanks!
  • I think that the two best hotels are the Capri Palace and Caeser Agustus but they are both in AnaCapri and very expensive so I haven't stayed there.I would suggest going to www.myhomeinitaly.com, they have some great smaller hotels  Perhaps some B&Bs as well but I'm not familiar with them. It's impossible to get a bad meal anywhere in Capri so explore your options
  • I'm more familiar with the cities, Capri & Ischia so I wouldn't be much help there.I have always wanted to go to Sorrento though.  Don't know why we never made it there :(
