Re: Poll: Names

• Ashley My parents found it in a baby name book, I think.  If I'd been a boy, Thomas. Yes, I love my name. I kind of want to give my kids "A" names since my DH and I both have "A" names, but we'll see.
• Margaret RuthAfter my grandmother (mom's mom)Natasha (as in Boris and)Not particularly, but I've gotten used to it.Have no clueFirst son-Jack Rowan CarsonFirst daughter-Amelia Gwendolyn KazimieraCuz those are the names FI and I picked
• RebeccaAfter my great-grandmother. I'm really happy I was born before my little sister. She was named after my grandmother, Wilma.Eva, after my other grandmother, but then my name would have sounded ridiculous with my last name.I go by Bec, because my other sisters all have Re- names (little sis goes by her middle name, a Re- name)Rory. I love that name. Always have.Amanda. Actually, I named her Andrea, Andi for short, but my fucktarded Ex and ExMIL said after labor I said Amanda instead. Funny, that's the name they wanted. I really don't think I said that; drugs or not. Fuuckers.
• What is your name? BrittanyWhy were you named this? Not a clue.  I think my mom just liked how it sounded. What were you almost named? I would have been Brett if I were a boy.  Hence my answer to the previous question.Do you like it? I liked it before everyone started spelling it wrong. If no, what would you change it to? If I changed it to anything, it would probably be Aerin.  I've used it as an online pseudonym for so long that I already answer to it pretty readily. What will/did you name your first son/daughter? why? First son will be Nikolai Robert.  Nikolai after Nikola Tesla, and because we wanted something different with options.  Robert is FI's middle name, my grandfather's name, and my brother's name, so it makes sense to pass it on.  For some reason I have this strange idea that I'm going to have twin girls, and I like the names Aerin Melody and Chloe Harmony.  I don't think I'm cruel enough to go through with that, though.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
• What is your name? ChristinaWhy were you named this? My dad liked the name What were you almost named? RachelDo you like it? SureIf no, what would you change it to? I really have no clueWhat will/did you name your first son/daughter? why?Daughter: Annabelle Lee (yes, after the Edgar Allen Poe poem) Son: not sure yet, FI and I can't agree on a name. I like Henry.  Theodore is a name that's in the running
• What is your name?Moira (pronounced like: More-uh, or like Laura)Why were you named this? My dad heard the name and really liked it. So did my mom. What were you almost named?Rhiannon (almost all my girlfriends were almost named Rhiannon as well. Stupid Stevie Nicks.) or Molly. Owen if I had been a boy.Do you like it?Growing up I hated it. No one could pronounce it. It's actually pronounced wrong for the spelling, or visa-versa. The original Irish name is Máire, pronounced like mine is, but the Anglicization is Moira, pronounced like Moyra. So it's wrong no matter where I go. If no, what would you change it to?When I was a kid I wanted to change my name to Jill. Easy to spell, easy to pronounce. Now I love my name and wouldn't change it for the world. What will/did you name your first son/daughter? why? No kids yet but I like these names:Girl: Fionnuala, Maeve, Oona, BeataBoy: Bryn, Torsten, Jasper, DesmondI like names from our heritage: Irish, English, German, Norwegian

• Joelle I was named in memory of my mom's cousin, Joel, who passed away from Leukemia in 1961 Don't know, all I know my mom was set on naming one of us after Joel I do, but I don't like when people misspell or mispronounce it and think I'm a guy If I have a girl, her name will be Lillian Joanne. Lillian is after my beloved grandmother who passed away 4 years ago and Joanne after DH's mom who died of lung cancer 2 months before we met. If I have a boy first, his name would be Michael Lester. Michael after DH and Lester after my beloved grandfather who passed away in '97 (I really miss both of my grandparents).

• What is your name?  GillianWhy were you named this?  No idea, parents just liked itWhat were you almost named?  I would have been Benjamin after my grandfather if I was a boy.  My parents were so sure I was a girl that they didn't even consider a boys name until they were rushing to the hospital.Do you like it?  I love my name.  It just annoys me that so many people spell it as Jillian, which is not the traditional spelling.  As a result, people always call me Gillian with a hard G (like Gilligan). If no, what would you change it to?  I also wanted to change it when I was younger because no one could pronounce it.  Wanted to be jessica, erin, jennifer, etc. like everyone else. What will/did you name your first son/daughter? why?  First daughter will likely be Cecilia because we both like the name.  While I love very preppy names, Mr. Penny doesn't, so we have to compromise on something that isn't super Italian (I think he'd like to name our kids Santino, Vincenzo, etc.) but still goes with our very Italian last name.
• Lauren My parents just like the nameI was almost an Elizabeth, but my Dad thought it was too long. (??)It's ok.  I like it enoughI wouldn't have minded something a little more fun, but I never had a name in mind.I really like the name Avery for a girl, for a boy, I have no idea.  The middle names will probably be Elizabeth and Allen.  My MIL and I share the same middle name and my FIL and my Dad share the same middle name too.

• DH keeps saying things like Doorknob and Propane. I married a 10 year old apparently. I think your DH might be my FI.
• Christineafter my grandmotherZula Zenobia, after my great-grandmother and great aunt (not really, but my mom joked about it)meh, I'm indifferentwouldn't change itfirst daughter named Talbot - maiden name in my family that would die out because of no male offspring to carry on the name (another reason to retain your maiden name and allow your children to take it, too)
• What is your name?  Chantel. Why were you named this?  I was named after a cousin. What were you almost named?  Chastity.  Thank GOD she changed her mind.Do you like it?  No.  That's why I go by CC.If no, what would you change it to? I. M. Awesome. What will/did you name your first son/daughter? why?  First son will be Nikolai Alexander (because Noodle liked it, and I was not about to let our son be named Rex Stone).  Daughter will probably be Vivian Rose.

• Mag - our men should go on a man date. They would fall in love.
• Amanda It was the only girl name my parents agreed on For girl names my mom liked Felicia and Elizabeth. My dad liked Daniella and Maria. If I was a boy I was going to be Nicholas. It's common but I love it. n/a Girls: Emma or Kara Boys: Evan, Ryan or Nate
• What is your name? ChrissyWhy were you named this? Mom liked the girl Chris on Young and the Restless? Or some soap she used to watch. What were you almost named? Angela.Do you like it? Yep!If no, what would you change it to? What will/did you name your first son/daughter? why? I'm not sure - maybe Ashleigh or Ansley or Emma.
• LindsayNo idea - but I do know my parents wanted another "L" name and since my sister is a Lauren...hence I became a LindsayI am pretty sure it was always Lindsay although there was debate over the spellingUmmmm - yea...I suppose...my last name is very common as well so that was a bit irritating growing up but I have an epically original middle name that makes up for itI don't think I'd ever change it - although a lot of my friends call me LouDaughter - Bryan (no middle name decided), I love the name and love girls that have more traditional male names for some reason...Son - Bryce or Asher, I love both names because they are different but nothing off the wall (Pilot Inspektor...) but I doubt if I had a boy and a girl that I would do Bryan and Bryce - too confusing...
• mag - just think, then they really could name their babies all of those crazy names.
• Charlene My mom liked it because it was different for my age Tiffany/Stephanie I have grown to like my name. I hated it in school because my teachers would always call me Charlie on the first day. I love the name Olivia, I don't know what I would name a son.
• Missy Because my paternal grandfather was going to call me Missy (as in, "look here, missy!") anyway, or so the story goes James Michael (they thought I was going to be a boy) Yes n/a Doubtful I will have children at this point, but were I to have had a daughter, I've always wanted to use the name Lily Grace.

Mary Frances Elizabeth (what a mouthful) or Katie Scarlett (yes, like Gone with the Wind)Do you like it? I love it, although in middle school I experimented with different spellings: Kati, Katee, etc. NEVER Katy, for some reason. Just don't like it.If no, what would you change it to? N/AWhat will/did you name your first son/daughter? why?I love Caramia Elizabeth (Cara Beth) and Brian Grayson (Gray)
• CassandraI have no idea where my parents found the name.Zelda.  Cue laughter now.  No I'm not kidding.  This was before the video game age but thank god my father vetoed it in the end.I love my name.  Although, I preferred it when I was the only one I knew with it.  Young and the Restless in the 80's ruined that.  All of a sudden my name appeared in the top 100 names and on all the silly little keychains and stuff.Already have one of eachSon:  AlecDaughter:  Sydney
• JenniferAfter Ali McGraw's character in Love Story.  And I was called Bozo in the womb, like in the movie.Sascha or CandaceIt's plain, but its okI named my daughter Sydney Leah.My husband wants to name our son Cruz, which I love.  I also like Oliver, Luke, Noah and Dalls, which he has vetoed.  The girls names I like are Natasha, Olivia, Grace, and Noelle.  Chloe as the secnd choice name for my daughter but it is too popular now and ruined it for me.
