Vistaprint

Okay.  So I'm going to have our STDs created by someone on Etsy after we get our engagement pics taken the 1st of October back (and hopefully we will get them back by the middle of October, as we want to send the STDs by November).  I'm going to go with the big magnets, ordering 10 at a time from the e-mails with 10 free until I get what I need. Here's my question - how difficult is it to upload an image onto the magnets on Vistaprint?  Is it possible for me to upload the created STD without it getting all stretched out?  What size should I have the person make it so that it fits on the face of the magnet without being too big or too small?

If I wanted to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, I'd put shoes on the cat. image

  • I used Vista print for some cards.  Basic card stock paper.  It wasnt fantastic, the color wasnt as vivid and bright as i wanted.  almost like colored pics in a newspaper.  I think that was because of the paper I chose more than vista print print job.  If you care about it being super formal snazzy looking, make sure you pick glossy paper or have a really really good picture to use.I just reread your post.  I dont think I answered at all what you were asking but I wont erase what I wrote just in case it helps in some way
  • We used Vistaprint for our STDs, but we got postcards. The image was true (not distorted at all) but the colors weren't quite as vibrant as I wanted them (but I got them for free, so I really couldn't complain). It was very easy to upload to the site, I converted the powerpoint slide into a jpeg and it was super quick. One other thing to keep in mind: when you upload your design, make sure you have enough room around the edges for the "cut" - if your design (like a photo) goes all the way to the edge, make sure it fits inside the lines. To see what size you should have it made, just check out the sizes available on the site. HTH!
  • I've ordered glossy postcards, glossy addy labels, magnets, linen notecards, and a few other non-glossy finish paper items.  The glossy items & magnets were perfectly true to color.  The non-glossy ones were a tiny bit skewed toward brown comparatively.  Not so much that it was a problem for me, but those sorts of things are mostly just thank you notes, etc. that we're using for now.  The magnets are probably not the sharpest print quality either, but again, for STDs, they're definitely good enough.  In fact, I bet nobody but me notices that they could be sharper.  My uber picky BM didn't notice.  :D  Vistaprint's website has the dimensions of every project.  They should make it to fit the "full bleed" measurements, but keep everything important inside the "trimmed" measurements.
