since you live in Italy, I wanted to ask, how do you find that the Italian media is portraying this trial? is there a lot of gossip that goes around about it? Just curious

I'd be interested in hearing the general Italian reaction to this as well. I'm slightly prejudiced, since I've read "The Monster of Florence" and am thus familiar with Mignini's ludicrous history of Making Shiit Up. If you haven't read that book, btw, I highly recommend it. It will horrify and amaze you. Also you will never step foot into Perugia. Ever.

There was a documentary on the "Monster of Florence" yesterday. It was fascinating and terrifying.

Honestly, I don't watch the Italian news as I generally find it ludicrous.  Knox never stood a chance, and neither did the others.  She's going to jail no matter what.  The other two defendants gave up quickly- but that's also because they are African.  No Italian jury was going to find them not guilty.

But, that doesn't mean I don't think she did it- I'm pretty certain she did, but the trial has been an absolute circus of grandstanding.

Sorry I'm of little help on that Brit.   If you saw the Italian news, you wouldn't watch it either.  I get really irritated with the female anchors with shirts unbuttoned to their navel and boobs in a pushup bra, with the cleavage shadowed.  I just can't take them seriously.

Verona - just to be clear, the Monster of Florence is actually a serial killer that killed about 16 people in Italy in the 80's (I think), not Amanda Knox. Just wasn't sure if that was clear in the previous posts.

cew thanks for clarifying, still totally creepyamoro- how weird that the news reporters dress like that on TV...I guess the culture there is more...liberal and accepting as far as professional attire goes?

Well, it's how all women on TV dress, no matter what.  It's just annoying.  I can't take them seriously.  But, it's what everyone is used to...

I'm probably late on this thread, but do all Italian trials only happen one day a week, like Knox's?  Kinda drawn out IMO
