We didn't invite ours to the reception....is this terrible of us?

    We didn't invite our priest, he has mass after our ceremony.

    Is it too late to invite the pastor? From my experience most decline or just make an appearance but all the weddings I have attended did invite them. That is just my experience though. :)

    Yeah, I think so.  Why wouldn't you invite the person who is marrying you to the reception?  And he's your pastor? Distasteful.

    He is not our pastor. We are not members of the church that we are being married in. Neither of us really belong to any church; it was important to my fiance that we be married in one, though, so we found one that we liked near the reception hall and one that had a pastor with personality, and we explained to him that was why we chose that church to be married in.
