Terrible roommates

I've mentioned on here before that Buddy and I live in the same house as his ex-wife. I think that puts me pretty high on the terrible roommate scale. But setting aside the fact that she's his ex-wife, and just looking at her as a roommate - for the FOURTH TIME since I moved in in MARCH, the water has been turned off because she didn't pay the bill. FOURTH. TIME.I already used my one flush before I knew it was off!Of course, there have been many more stories over these months, a lot along the same lines. But I don't go downstairs and kick her in the bajingo (she's asleep on the couch, as always), please regale me with your equally horrible roommate stories.

Re: Terrible roommates

  • Why is she still in charge of the water payment?

  • Because that's how things are divided in this house.

  • My roommate freshman year in college was a mean nudist. She told me she was glad my father died.  And then flopped about, naked, on my freshly washed bedding.  Cvnt.

  • I had a roommate that thought it was acceptable to invite total strangers over when he was out drinking.  I'd wake up in the morning to find random drunks passed out all ove my living room.  He didn't even know who they were.
  • If you tried to move her and the couch out to the curb and changed the locks, do you think she'd wake up?
  • I don't know the background story to this, but wow  you are a strong person for allowing the ex-wife to live in the house!
  • Well my college roomate set fire to our room that is my hidious roomate experience Can you afford to move out? Wow it must take the patience of a saint to live with the ex wife
  • Brie - "mean nudist" is my favorite combination of words of the whole day.

  • It's true - there's a lot of background story and all options are considered, often, and put into action as best as possible. I promise. It hasn't been horrible all the time, but I'm at a point right now where I get really upset if I try to discuss it. I have no water and I smell bad right now.I really just want to hear more stories about mean nudists!

  • I'm sorry.  That is really distressing.  FI had a roommate who didn't want a roommate.  He wanted a wife.  Roommate would berate FI until he did housework with him when FI didn't make messes.  Roommate capped FI's internet usage and then took it away completely.  FI moved out a week later.

  • I lived in this house of 2 girls and a guy, the landlord decided one day she was moving in and if we didnt want to live with her we could move out. We all found new apartments. After I left (the one girl and I were not on good terms after repeated issues of her stealing my clothes and hiding them in her room), I was called by said girl told I owed over 200$ for LD charges. She refused to let me see the bill and said that the calls were to a 905 number and thats where im from so it must have been me that made the calls. I refused to pay anything more than the base charge for the amount of days that month I was living there and she raised holy hell and kept calling and threatening me for the money. She eventually called my mom and tried it on her, that didnt go over well and she finally left me alone.
  • There is no other way to describe her, tj.  She was a very mean nudist indeed.

  • Wow mandy... that poop story wins. Hands down. wtf.
  • One of my college roommates turned tricks out of our dorm room.  I wish I was kidding.
  • One roommate hated everyone in the house so much she would turn her TV up to full volume, lock her bedroom door and then leave the house. We finally broke the door down one day. Another roommate was more weird than bad. She refused to buy lightbulbs so if a light went out in her room she would just steal the bulb from another light in the house until one day we came home and the only room with lights was hers.
  • My RM first semester of college didn't wash her sheets the entire semester.  She ate in her bed, spilled things, it was disgusting.  If you got too close, you started itching, literally. One RM moved all of her stuff out while me and our 3rd RM were at work.  Then when we got home pretended she was just leaving a day early for a trip home.  Of course, I noticed 2 minutes after she left that the A/C in the living room was gone. She then tried to cancel the cashier's check she'd given for the rent.  Dumbaass didn't realize you can't cancel a cashier's check.
  • I had 3 roommates senior year of college.  One is awesome and is my MOH.  The other two, not so much.  We had a 3 bedroom, so my MOH and I got our own rooms and the other two shared a room. RM1 was dating an annoying guy who would cook for her at 3 in the morning all the time. My room was off the kitchen so I had to hear the cooking and banging pots and pans.  RM1 would also complain that she was gaining weight and couldn't figure out why. RM2 was very overweight and very unclean.  She wouldn't clean the apartment or do her dishes, just leave them in the sink.  Once, we put all the dishes in a box on her bed.  Also, she didn't shower, so our apartment would smell.  The only time she would shower was when she was going to meet a random guy she met on the internet.  Once, she was gone for days (none of us had heard from her) and we thought something happened.  She just came back like it was no big deal.

  • wow. I don't think I can top the poopy roommate.Well, we had a roommate who was incredibly sloppy in every aspect of her life. She could not hold her booze and came home incoherent one night with a bloody gash in her forehead and couldn't tell us how it happened (I don't think she was even aware). She also came home drunk one night and had loud sex upstairs in her room with the door open. My other roommate heard her shouting 'yeah! you like this pusssy!' really loudly. Thankfully I was working that night, as my room was right next to hers. We laugh now at the ridiculousness, but not funny at the time.

  • rhodesign, that reminds me kind of ( a little) of a roomate I had once. He was a guy subletting a room in the attic and he woudl always have random girls over. There was no door and the floors were very creaky so you could hear whenever they were having sex, and they were always loud. He made me promise that once I heard them finish (it was hard NOT to listen), that id call his cell and make up a crisis so the chick would have to leave.
  • My junior year in college I did a semester abroad in Ireland. We were not housed on campus, but in a townhouse with 4 Irish girls (there was another American girl in my program at that particular school). Through our program we had paid in advance for rent and oil for heat. Our roommates would always forget to put money in for oil and would ask us to help them out, even though we had already paid. We ran out of oil FOUR times in the 6 months I lived there. In winter. Since we didn't have a clothes dryer we had to hang our clothes on the radiators to dry as it was too cold and damp for them to dry on their own. Without oil, the radiators never got warm and it would take several days for our clothes to dry enough to wear them. One roommate had a boyfriend who would visit on the weekend. He wouldn't get there until very late at night, then should would get up and make him dinner. Not only was our room directly next to hers, but our room was above the kitchen. So when she would cook for him at 3am it would always wake us up. She also had a bag of coal next to the fireplace. Since we only turned the heat on for 1/2 hour each morning and each evening we used the fireplace constantly to keep the living room warm. If she went away for a day or two she would take the coal up to her room and lock it in there so my American roommate and I wouldn't use it. Nevermind that we usually bought turf at the shop to burn as I didn't like the smell of the coal and it was more expensive.None of this holds a candle to the poop roommate, though. *shudder*
