Notes on RSVPs?

I didn't know people wrote notes on RSVPs. Every single one I've gotten back has a sweet note on it. I am so excited to open them now! Is this normal? Now I feel bad for never writing anything on an RSVP.

Re: Notes on RSVPs?

  • I got a few like that, but for the most part, no.  It did make things more fun, though!
  • I was really suprised about that too but yeah, most of mine have had notes.. especially the no's.
  • Psh, probably not normal its just that your invites were so frickin cute people couldn't help themselves. Honestly, I have no idea if this is normal. I've never done that.
  • Now I'm going to feel bad if people don't write notes on my RSVPs.

  • We did email RSVPs so most of our friends wrote something nice in their emails.

  • I'm sorry, J&K! Put little conversation bubbles on them so people feel obligated! :) A lot of them say something about the invitation, but every single one is a YES, and says something about me and FI. I love opening them. I'll be disappointed now if the rest are blank and the first two days of receipt were just a fluke. LOL I got 14 back so far though, so that's nice!
  • I have only gotten a couple, and it was from people I wouldn't think would write one...my assistant principal for one.  We hardly ever talk during the day and I thought that was really sweet of her.  I now plan on doing it from here on out.  It really does make me happy :)

  • Haha, now I'm going to add a line underneath number accepting that says "Please write us a nice note here: ________________"

  • We got a couple of notes, I didn't expect it either!

  • We had a fair amount with writing, but overall I'd say it was maybe only a 30-40% of them.
  • LMAO J&K. PLEASE do that. FTR, my "we have reserved __ seats in your honor" has worked perfectly so far. I only had one person cross out my handwritten "4" and put 2, as she's not bringing her children. SCORE!
  • We got some with notes and doodles. They're going in the scrapbook! I never wrote a note before our wedding, but I started writing them now.
  • I found a note written on an RSVP from my first wedding. I still have it. It's about the only thing I saved, because it was so nice and unexpected. They went to my parents, so I didn't see them, and didn't go through them until way later. I'm not even sure I saw it until after we separated. Funny story: my grandmother, who just turned 88, obviously is not traveling to Vegas. We knew this; it's why we're doing a webcast. We knew it months ago. She fell several weeks ago and broke a rib (being non-compliant with her 24/7 care and getting up on her own). When she returned her RSVP card, she wrote on the bottom, "My traveling days are limited, owing to a broken rib and refusing to listen!" Um..... okay. It made me laugh. I know my mom had something to do with that....

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I'm most used to blank RSVPs that just have a response date at the top and then the rest is blank so in that scenario, I obviously always write a note. The ones for my first wedding were like that and I loved reading through all the responses. (So much so that even after we divorced, I kept the responses from my side of the family and friends -- still have them actually). Because that's what I'm used to, I tend to write a note along with even the more utilitarian RSVPs that have the check boxes.
  • My FSIL wrote a book! She filled up the entire blank back. I'm so happy. I like the idea of saving them. I may add them to the front of the guestbook. If I ever figure out what exactly that will be, that is.
  • It was one of the best surprises from our wedding. Especially the ones from the members DH's family which I has not yet met. they were so excited for us. I kept them.
  • Jeez, I have a space on mine ASKING for a "note for the couple" and less than half came back with anything at all...  some people used it to tell me they'd need a high chair for their kid, or that they'll have to get back to us later on who their "and guest" will be...  :(
  • Frankie did this with her RSVPs...asked  her guests to draw them a picture or write a note. Some people wrote us notes. I only write notes if I can't attend a wedding. I'd just be thrilled if people would send in their damned RSVPs.

  • I had a friend email me today and say she's not sending me her RSVP because it's so cute. That was the best compliment ever! All the England people received an RSVP with an envelope to mail it back and an email addy to use. I'm going to print those out and add them to the mailed RSVPs. Who knew this could be so much fun! I may have to chill on being the chill bride TJ hates and actually get excited about this little shindig!
  • I loved that too!  Now I always write notes now.
  • I never realized it until I got married...now I usually write a little note on the RSVP.
