Mother of the Bride Dresses?

Does anyone have any places they can recommend to find a non-traditional mother of the bride dress in NYC?  She doesn't want the typical MOB dress but something more modern & classy.

    Any department store with a formal wear section, Macys, Saks, Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom etc. If you ask a salesperson for help avoid saying MOB and just describe how formal your wedding is. My mom is 50 and in great shape and found that anything labeled MOB was too mature or too frumpy for her.

    <div>If you haven't already, you should take a peak at some custom dress makers in the nyc area. Maybe someone like Lauren Gabrielson (<a href="http://www.laurengabrielson.com)" rel="nofollow">http://www.laurengabrielson.com)</a> or other shops in the soho area would be a good fit.</div>
