Inviting Minister to Reception?

Is it proper etiquette to invite your minister to your reception? Were on a budget, and having a smaller size wedding, and there's not room in budget to invite him and his spouse. Are you inviting your minster to your reception?

I am.  If you don't have a relationship with him, he may decline the invite, but you should invite him.

There's not room for 2 more people?  You realize at least two of your invitees will likely decline, yes?

I would think to at least invite them. We are inviting ours, but it is has a lot to do with the fact that he is a close friend of the family, and would have been invited even if he wasn't marrying us.

Yes, you are supposed to invite them.Make sure when you're calculating cost per head that you include the minister and his spouse, plus any vendor meals needed as well.

We invited ours and he declined.

Our minister was my husband's grandfather, so it would have been super awkward had we not invited him. He and his wife accepted. HTH.

We invited our minister verbally (didn't actually send him an invitation).  We didn't know him very well, and he didn't end up coming to the reception.  Our wedding day happened to be his anniversary, though.

Yes you really should invite him, it's the polite thing to do.  We invited ours (priest so no spouse), and he declined.

Yes - the minister and spouse, if applicable, should be invited to the reception.

My minister is my dad, so I think we'll invite him.  His Save the Date email came back as undeliverable, so I guess I have an opportunity to change my mind.  Although, my mom's email went through, so I guess he can be her plus one.

We invited our priest and her husband. Priest came, husband didn't.
