How hard is it...

...to put a fuucking card in the mail? A stamped, self-addressed card with all the stuff already written on it? I'm in that lovely phase of post-RSVP date where I'm trying to track down people who haven't responded, and our guest counts are due in two days. Sometimes I forget that the general public is not P&E educated. Just a vent. *grumpy face*

  • I'll admit, I used to be terrible at that.  I have since amended my ways.
  • I hear ya. I didn't have a very large guest list, but everytime one of my friends called and told me hey got the invitation, I told them they had to send the card back since I paid for a stamp.

  • We had almost half of ours never returned. It was frustrating.

  • In Israeli culture, there is no such thing as an RSVP.  You only call to say no and that is rare.  No grumpy face, you don't want wrinkles and botox!
  • that's what she said! Trust me, I feel your pain. I don't get what makes it so difficult. What surprises me most is that some of the people I'm missing RSVPs for have been brides, some of them recently. It blows my mind.

  • Mocha, I was the same way too years ago, so really I can't be too mad. I think I'm just extra bitter because 95% of the reply cards I've gotten have check marks next to different entrees where I clearly marked "Please initial next to your individual entree choice." So I've had to call everyone anyway, which defeats the purpose of the RSVP. And one of my (formerly) good friends who backed out of being a BM, flaked out and canceled on me the day of my shower (which I flew to Colorado for in order to see her and my other girls), has not RSVPd or replied to my email inquiring about it. Yet I see her on FB for the past three hours posting status updates about her puppy's shiit and random quizzes about herself. It's making me feel like a crazy person.

  • Brookelyn, I was thinking the same thing after I posted, and thought this might turn into a "finish this sentence" post. ;)E, I will totally need botox because I am a poopy-face right now.CS, I should have included an email... that might have been more convenient for most people. Would've saved postage too!

  • This is exactly why I'm not sending out self-addressed stamped cards- waste of cash.  The good people will RSVP online, the bad people will have to be tracked down anyway.

  • honestly, I'm thinking about doing an email option in addition to the traditional "cards". I hate snail mail. I check mine about once a month to unload the crap in my box. I hate mailing things. Its a pain in the a$$ to go to the Post Office. Email is so much easier and more accurate. I don't like sending mail; I don't like recieving it. I do not understand why 100% of important communication isn't done over email anymore.
  • I was surprised. I had our email on the RSVP card to notify us that way, too. I got exactly 2 email RSVPs out of 55. I thought for sure technology would have been on my side in this situation. Nope.

  • Hm, maybe people prefer the tradition over technology? I know that's why I decided to go with paper invites and response cards.
