I'm so frustrated!

I'm trying to do a little "pre-packing" so I can find out how heavy my suitcase is, and it's driving me nuts. I have no idea how long I'll be in the US waiting for my stupid visa, and I have to be prepared for 2 seasons. Plus, keep my suitcase under 70lbs. So, I need a winter coat, take my boots and some shoes, winter and fall clothes... wtf. This is freaking impossible. I'm about to rip my hair out.

Ditto wearing as much stuff as you can on the plane. You can just shove it in the overhead bin once you get on.When I was flying back from semester abroad in London I had way too much stuff. I was able to sneak an extra carry on onto the plane without too much trouble. Also, it never hurts to be really nice to the person checking your bags. The woman who checked me in that time didn't charge me extra for every leg of the trip that I was over the weight limit. B/c, yeah, I went over the limit and still needed an extra carryon.

I always push weight limits with traveling because of shoes and crap like that. So I always put the heavier items on my body or in the carry-on and check everything else. Put heavy stuff in FI's carry-on too.

GK, I got them at the H&M in Sweden last year.Shipping is definitely out. Too expensive and too time consuming. That's how we got all our stuff here when we moved. Lucky the company paid for it- 4 boxes was $500.

He's only going to be there for 2 weeks, so I'll end up using his space. He's such a light packer, it's annoying. He doesn't understand how I would require so much space.

I wore a light sweater and fall jacket this morning.Yeah I have a thick fleece jacket I wore. But I think the fact that I am getting sick, may be making me colder than it really is.

Don't pack heavy sweaters. Just wear your fall clothes, layered. Maybe guy a few long sleeved light shirts when you get home, and go with that. Ask for sweaters for Christmas if you're a sweater person.Roll up socks and underwear and stuff them in your shoes. Or, pack socks and underwear in your carry-on. Don't forget that you can take a carry-on and a personal item (meaning a purse). Take the biggest purse you can find and pack stuff in there too. It will be heavy, but it works. Wear your winter coat, even though it will suck. You can take it off as soon as you get through security, and you can stuff it in the overhead bin once you take off.

I'm going to buy socks and underwear when I get there. Not worth the space. Already down to 2 pairs of jeans, and only a few of the lighter sweaters. It's just irritating because we could have a damn blizzard in November and I'd be fuucked.
