Oh Coco, it will, once the patent expires. I'm with you punky. I try not to get up in arms when people post their horrible drug experiences and say DON'T TAKE THIS! (Someone asked about Accutane recently, and while I was happy to share my horrible experience and say that I would never take it again, I was careful to say that it does work really well for some people and you should just be cognizant of the side effects.)
Punky - I agree, everybody has their own unique reactions to meds. Which is why after trying countless meds and reading forum after forum, I'm still in search of a decent preventative migraine medicine (for me, at least).

ashley, beta blockers are the new thing for migraines. My neurologist put me on topamax because of the success I'd had in the past with it. He may have tried beta blockers otherwise; I don't know. To my knowledge, my only triggers are stress, possibly hormonal changes, and weather fronts/pressure changes. I have not noticed any specific food issues. To add a disclaimer, for this round of medication, I am also a post-gastric bypass patient. My hunger trigger is FUBAR anyway, so who knows. I've lost a little weight, but like 6 pounds, so that could be from biking, stress, the medication - anything. Nothing to make me give up the medicine. I know when I've skipped a dose. Shannon, keep a headache diary. When you get them, write down what you've eaten, what you drank, what you're feeling (stressed, anxious, etc), if it's time for you're period, even what the weather is doing. This will help you track what's going on. Then you can begin to change what you can change (do you get one if you drink red wine? Lay off the red wine). As soon as you get insurance coverage, get thee to a doctor and get a referral to a neurologist. They are the best ones to treat migraines.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
I was at CVS the other day picking up a prescription since my insurance makes me get some prescriptions from them only. I picked up a paper about their own prescription pill insurance and it says all prescriptions are 5, you will get generic unless it isn't available in generic. I wanted to get the insurance but I can't since I have a plan. You might be able to do this, it was less than a hundred to join.
I think the same is true for Walgreens. I think it was there that I saw a commercial that was saying now that so many people are out of a job, and dont have insurance, they are filling scripts (generic brands) for 5 bucks. Go to a community health clinic, google your area to find ones that cater to people with low incomes or no insurance. just because you dont have insurance doesnt mean you cant get care somewhere without paying a fortune. Good luck.
