computer people

fi just got me a new printer for my birthday.... if you don't have wireless internet you can't use wifi, right??tia.

Re: computer people

  • I have a wireless router on my DSL line.  The desktop PC is cabled in, but the laptops connect to the internet anywhere in the house.  I need a cable to the printer if I want to print something off the laptop.

  • If your laptop has an internal wireless card, that means it's capable to use wifi even though you might not have wireless internet at home.

  • huh?I don't really understand your question. You could have a wireless internal network without access to the internet. So, if you wanted to print from a computer to your new printer without a cable, you could do that without internet access.

  • If you don't have wireless internet then you won't be able to connect to your computer to the printer wirelessly.  Is that your question? You have to set up a wireless network for it to work.

  • You could set it up but you still need some way to connect.  You'll have to set up a wireless network between the laptop and the printer.
