I feel awful for my MOH

She was supposed to have surgery today to repair her torn ACL and meniscus after hobbling around injured for four months. The surgeons went in and found......absolutely nothing. Her ACL and meniscus are just fine. The poor girl has convinced herself that she's going to be in pain for the rest of her life. I don't even know how to comfort her right now.Anyone heard of this happening before?

if she's been hobbling for 4 months and it wasn't her acl/meniscus, she needs a new doctor.

They did, shan! That's what boggles my mind. The doc looked at her images and said, "yeah, that's absolutely torn."

Doc needs a new set of glasses. Has she tried physical therapy?

I know drs are human and make mistakes... but I would be so mad.  She should have gotten a second opinion before surgery anyway, but regardless - it's time for one now.

Yeah, she had started therapy to strengthen the surrounding muscles about a month back. It's supposed to help shorten recovery time.

Yeah, they did, Tide. She was actually joking with me about that because they'd painted it with iodine before surgery.

Yeah, I've heard of a lot of stories about surgeons operating on the wrong side or the wrong body part altogether...but they at least got that right.

I has some doctors tell me that I had the same problem. However the day before we were scheduled for the debrief on the surgery or whatever they called and said they accidentally switched the MRIs, and they saw nothing wrong in mine at all. As it turns out from the physical therapist I've been seeing...I never learned to walk correctly as a child...I didn't know there was a right way to walk lol, but it caused my outer leg muscles to be over develpoed and my inner leg muscles to be under developed. Now I don't get to wear heals much, and I actaully had to relearn at 15 how to walk again. I'll be doing exercises for the rest of my life is I want to keep my knee caps in place (the over developed muscles pull them out), but no more pain anymore.
