who calls my house before 10AM on a weekend is going to get a shitstorm_ of a lecture from me. We had the same person call 3 times in a row...and DH kept hanging up on them because he didn't want me to wake up (sweet) but it woke me up. Now I am effing cranky. FML.

Do Not Call doesn't apply to companies with whom you have a 'relationship'. So if you have a HELOC with Wells Fargo, they can call you to pitch other products. Rotten.

next time i get a call, whoever is at the end of the line is going to end up having as shitty_ of a day as they provided me with. Seriously. I get to sleep in two days a week...why can't they just wait till after 10AM?!!!!

That's when you tell them not to contact you again, and that you'll be contacting the Attorney General....at least that's what  worked for my parents

That is terribly annoying. We don't get hit much at home but I get slammed at work by these companies who directly ask for me by name and say we have an online business listing. We are also on the DNC list but it's not deterred them, they just won't quit.

That sucks! We don't have any telemarketers call but we also don't have a home phone.

Heh.  FI loved it when telemarketers called.  He'd pretend to speak Chinese to them, or the one time I came home and he was talking like Lil John to them.  Or the time he set the phone down in front of the TV so they could hear the football game we were watching.  He's funny like that.

I just used Wells Fargo as an example . . . they called me constantly until I asked them to take me off their list. I'm not sure most companies really observe the DNC list, as I still get random calls. Telemarketers are awful.

Back in the days before the do not call list, my brother used to tell telemarkers that he couldn't talk to them because we don't have a phone.  didn't stop the calls from coming, but it was pretty funny.

When they call and ask for me I tell them "she is not home" and hang up. My mom always tells them that person they are asking for passed away and makes them feel like crap!

Yeah, it took me forever to figure what he was doing because I walked in the door from work and he was on the phone saying, "WHAT!"  "HUH!"  over and over and over.

That sucks. I used to call people to do telephone surveys for non-profits...but our weekend hours were 12-4 on Saturday and 3-8 on Sunday. Honestly, just say "Take me off the list" and it should do the trick. There are also exceptions to the DNC list, such as surveys, or anyone else who isn't selling anything or soliciting money.

I'm always so annoyed by telemarketers, but I can't bring myself to be rude to them because I wouldn't want someone to be rude to me while I was just doing my job. I am definitely angry after they wake me up, though. =(
