NWR: Is there a nice way....

to tell my grandpa to stop emailing me anti-Obama, Rush Limbaugh type crap. I'm getting 2-3 emails a day from him. I never should have taught him how to use the computer...

Re: NWR: Is there a nice way....

  • Probably not lol.. maybe you could make a folder dedicated to him where all of his emails go in there and don't go to your inbox? Or if you don't read them, you could arrange them to be sent straight to your trash folder.
  • LOL Just tell him you don't like forwarded emails that it clogs up your inbox.

  • You can do what I did when my obnoxious aunt was doing the same thing to me: write him back counter-arguments to the (I'm sure) crap that he's sending. When my aunt would send me flagrantly outlandish crap like that, I always picked through every bit of it to correct and inform her of the truth. She eventually stopped sending it to me. And maybe stopped believing everything she saw? Takes some time, but it's worth it in the long run. Anything Rush Limbaugh says is simple to refute anyway.

  • This last one was about a huge Anti-Obama, anti-Congress demonstration last weekend in DC....it was legit, but the info that he added to it was just stupid.
  • I'd just have it sent directly to your junk mail.

  • Send him Obama propaganda! Maybe he doesn't know how you feel? :) Totally what I would do.

  • Oh yea, I get those- the "Obama is the Antichrist and Muslims are going to destroy the world" types.  Thankfully they're not every day, so I just delete them.  If it were every day, I'd ask to not get them anymore- I think you can use the "forwards clog my inbox" excuse.

  • We have a neighbor like that. Except he drops by with crazy anti-Obama DVD's that he got from God knows where. My parents just accidentally lose them, and by accidentally lose them I mean threw them away. He finally stopped when they "lost" 3.

  • You could always find and send him back equally outlandish emails. You know, like the theory that Santa Claus killed Jesus because there was too much competetion at Christmas time.

  • People used to send me stuff like this. Now I don't like our new pres, but I also don't like antichrist/antimuslim crap. That is what it is, crap. It totally makes their reasons for not agreeing, not liking Obama a moot point for me. I used to send them back stuff like, "I am not a Christian" or "How delightfully racist of you" but these were friends and not family. I say since it is family, have it send to junkmail like everyone else said.

  • That sounds EXACTLY like my Dad! Either ignore the emails or put them in a folder and ignore them.

  • I would just delete them. Or I like the idea of finding arguments for them and send that back.
  • Unfortuntely not. Maybe he could start emailing my father, who never sends me any real, self-created messages but usually manages to fire off 8-12 email forwards daily (on a similar theme as your grandpa).
