A lot of people don't know what to do with dry humor. I've experienced this a lot myself, since most of my humor is only of the driest kind.

Apparently, your family is a bunch of buttheads!  How can you not laugh at that?  I know my family would crack up, FI's however.....probably same reaction as your's.  Some people just suck.

I love them! Our RSVPs have two options: ____ Can't wait to be there! and _____ Hate to miss it! Apparently, this is confusing certain members of my family. One actually called my mom and said "I don't know what to check. I will be able to go, but I can't say that I 'can't wait to be there!'" WTF. I am so sorry that your family is lame, though.

I definitely like it. If you were a good friend of mine, I'd check the "accepts with regret" line and write in "just kidding, I can't wait for your day!" or something equally cheesey.
