The things you do for others.

Two months out from our wedding and recently female relatives and in-laws have been requesting that I wear/have various things on the day. For example, my MOH and FI's grandmother have both bought garters, my grandmother and FMIL have rings they want me to wear, mom wants me to wear pearls and carry a horseshoe from her bouquet, and FMIL wants us to use her cake topper. I think it's all really sweet and I've agreed to most the requests, but it got me thinking, what did you do/wear/have for others on your wedding day that you otherwise wouldn't have done?

Re: The things you do for others.

  • I'm doing the big wedding (would rather elope and spend the money on a holiday) and wearing a white dress (would like to wear red) for my FI. Sure planning a big wedding will be fun (I love planning) but its not really what I want. But FI wants it so I'll do it to make him happy. The honeymoon is what I want, so it evens out!
  • I'm pretty much wearing what I want. And no one has actually specifically requested I wear anything, although some items have been offered.
  • FI bought me a pair of earrings and request that I wear them on the big day.Other than that, I am wearing the dress - I would rather be wearing pants.
