my married initials suck... what to do?

My married initials are A.S.S. (sigh). I'm filling out paperwork to get my social security card and name changed, and don't know what to do about my middle name (Sophia, which I love). If you were me, would you:1. Keep the initials as is2. Change Sophia to something else (probably my Chinese name)3. Keep maiden name as middle name4. Keep Sophia and maiden name as middle names5. Drop the middle name altogether.I'm not too attached to Sophia beyond it simply being part of my name and my paternal great-grandmother's name, but I have zero contact with my paternal side and no knowledge of my great-grandmother. I'm leaning towards going with my Chinese name but am so unsure still. I'm open to suggestions of what you would do if you were me!Thanks in advance for any input!

• I like option 4 or keeping Sophia and your chinese name if you like that... I understand not wanting to lose your middle name! I feel the same way...

• What would your initials be with your Chinese name?
• Awww, I'm sorry dear.  Before I clicked open this thread, I tried to guess what the bad initials could be... and A.S.S. was the first on the list.  But honestly, what do you use initials for?  Practically nothing.  I use mine to sign casual e-mails, but that's just because I want to.  So I would just keep them as is.

• Honestly, how often do people go by all three initials? I'd leave them as is.
• I would just get over the initial self consciousness. How often are you really going to be writing all three of your initials, anyway?
• I agree. No one's going to notice or care, atleast enough for it to matter. Keep it as it is.
• I'm sorry. I'm a child.I'd probably change the middle to my maiden, that's what we do in my family. I kept my maiden as a second middle since I go by my middle name.

• 6. Don't change your name.
• I dropped my middle and changed my maiden name to my middle name, but like lpstl - that's what my family does and that's what I wanted to do. I wouldn't worry about it. No one will notice, and even if they do, they'll get a chuckle and move on. Just don't name your future kid Adam Steve Smith, and you should be ok.

• I think keeping your middle name is really fine, and that the initials are not a big deal. It's not like you'll use them a lot... But then I think about when you have to initial a ton of paragraphs in a document like a mortgage application. There will be grins ;) If you're okay with that and you like Sophia, keep it!
• I guess the only reason I care is I use 3 initials everyday @ work!

• Yea, in my office, projects and assignments are often given out with initials associated with them, and I do work with ppl juvenile enough to make a big deal of it. I'd make my maiden name my middle name, or at least add it so you have 4 names.
• #4. That's what I did!

• Just leave it . . . not that big a deal.

• When would you ever use all three initials?  Whenever I initial anything I just use my first and last.  I never use my middle initial for anything.I would just keep your initials as they are.

• I just realized my new initials will be RAW. Nice! Aside from work codes, I'm not sure when your initials will even be an issue. Do you monogram lots of stuff? I'd do whatever you want with your name and not worry about it. Unless your initials ended up being KKK, I can't think of any other three letter combinations that would bother me to the point that I worry about it.
• Seriously?  My initials are going to be the same thing and I am SO stoked for it!  I think it's hilarious!  It's all what you make of it!
• My fiance has 4 names but he never uses his second middle name (which is his mom's maiden name). For his middle initial, he uses the first letter of his first middle name. When someone asks him his middle name he will respond, "Anthony." That's it. So unless you are planning on using all 4 initials, keep in mind that many people LIKE when you use 3 initials anyway.I never use my initials (which are MMM) or even my middle initial. Just my first and last name or my first, middle, last names if I'm being fancy.
