Mini Poll

What temperature do you keep your house at? This is a constant battle between T and I.

Re: Mini Poll

• 78 in the summer, 70 in winter.
• I like to keep the AC running at 70, but FI always turns it off during the day and it drives me crazy.  It is always all hot and stuffy by the time I get home.
• If it gets below 65, that's a problem. If it gets above 72, that's a problem. I like it at about 68-70.

• I think it stays at 76. I'm not sure. I don't touch the thing.

• In the summer we just turn off the heat and we didn't turn the air on this year because it wasn't warm enough at all. In the winter, it's about 24.5 (76) but it boosts 4 times a day for a short burst to 27 (80) because we live in a 100 year old house with 12 foot ceilings and the heat vents are up at the top so it's always cool where we sit.

• We keep it at 72...I would rather 65, but FI is a big baby.  :)

• Currently, 72 at night and 78 when we're not home all day. In the evenings, we gradually knock it down to 72 a few degrees at a time. This will be our first winter in our new house, so I don't know about winter temps yet.
• 73 year round.  Luckily, FI and I don't have temperature disagreements.  I was scared that all men were like my dad and liked to keep their homes at meat locker temperatures.  I got lucky.

• In the summer it is about 78 (we don't have central air so we use window air conditioning).  In the winter I hover between 68 and 70

• Usually between 70-75.  Unless FI messes with the thermostat..then it goes below 65.
• We don't have A/C so in the summer we turn the furnace off.  Room temperature is 20C and we keep the house 1t 17C right now.  Depending on how cold I am, I will raise it to NO MORE than 21C.

• 66 in the winter and 72 in the summer.  We are cheap, but we both agree.
• About 73-75 in the summer and 65 in the winter.

• You keep your houses at 78!?!! THATS INSANELY HOT! I'd have to be naked at all times to even pretend like that was comfortable.

• around 20 (C). Year-round. I don't like to be too warm, and I don't like to be too cold.

• I don't know, I don't touch it.Here's what I've gathered:When I get up, it's at "put on a sweatshirt."Mid day, it's at "jeans and t-shirt"Late afternoon/early evening, it's at, "put sweatshirt on" for me and "why the eff are you putting on a sweatshirt" for him.Middle of the night, it's at "too hot, get on your side, too HOT MOVE OVER."Buddy claims no one changes it at all, though, so I think my internal temperature thinger is just weird

• Between 72 and 76 now that it's freezing outside. The bedroom is always much colder, but I don't mind it now.
• I only have a window a/c unit in my apt. That is usually right in the middle at "5". Winter 68-70. But I turn it down at night and when I leave the apt for the day.

• Between 65 and 70 normally.

• In the summer when we are home I like to keep it around 73. When we are not home it is 78. In the winter I believe it is set around 70 for when we are there and 67 when we are not. (we have one of the thermostats where we have 4 different settings= wake, leave, return and sleep)

• It's only 78 when we're not home. Plus, that's generally about 20 degrees cooler than it is outside, so it's not as stuffy as you'd think. It always gets knocked down immediately when one of us gets home. Plus, hubby usually does pretty much strip down as soon as he gets home. He's in underwear (only) 90% of the time we're home.
• This time of year, 68. In the summer, not over 78 FI wants it at 80 year round. I told him to toughen up and that he can't call himself a true Dakotan unless 40 in January feels like a heat wave.
• Wow everyone keeps their houses cooler than I'd expected. I like our thermostat at about 76 whereas T likes it at 72 (I freeze!). Most people I've talked to who live here (phoenix) said they keep it around 80 though
• You keep your houses at 78!?!! THATS INSANELY HOT! I'd have to be naked at all times to even pretend like that was comfortable. I claim lack of acclimatization on my part. Since we emigrated to Canada I'm literally cold ALL. THE. TIME. Never got used to the temperature differences and even in summer, unless it's 30C or above, I'll be in a light sweater or light jacket and pants.

• Oh. I though you were talking to me.
• You keep your houses at 78!?!! THATS INSANELY HOT! I'd have to be naked at all times to even pretend like that was comfortable. Well, it's usually like in the 90's here in DC and super humid in the summer. If I keep the house colder, I have a lot more difficulty adjusting to the outside temperature and tend to get sick in the summertime. I run ceiling fans at the same time. And if I'm feeling hot, I'll crank it down a couple of degrees.
• It is just during the hot hot hot months.  We hang out in our undies more during those months.
