Bored? Help pick my dog!

• Expat, he's so cute!  We pretty much love all dogs, even small ones.  But I do some pretty long hill runs and we're not sure a smaller dog could keep up.  Plus, we want at least a little bit of an intimidation factor!

• I give up.  I can't do this for myself, b/c I always want them *all*, I don't know why I thought I could do this for someone else.  They're all adorable.  I wish you the best in your search. My only words of advice would be to research the breed (or breeds in the mix) of the dog you're getting to learn its tendencies, rather than worry about size.  For example, some big dogs are much less rambunctious and needing of space than some medium-sized dogs.
• ralphie and georgia!
• Shatchel has the cutest sadest little face I've ever seen! Did you read his description? It fits you very well: "Are you ready for a walk? Do you want to run? Do you want to play ball? Are you looking for an exercise partner that you cannot turn down? Are you wondering what it is like to run an agility course? I am an active canine looking for an energetic companion. We could jog together, play Frisbee, toss the ball, and then snuggle up on the couch to relax. When I am on, I am in high gear. When I am not on, I definitely look forward to just you and me time when we can just chill out together."

• I looove Ralphie. I would also say any of the australian cattle dogs or border collie puppies. They are great breeds, especially for running. They tend to alert-bark, but aren't usually aggressive. Keith Urban is pretty cute too!I kind of think the aggressive breed thing is lame. Some breeds are stronger and need more training, but few dogs are just naturally aggressive, but that's beside the point. Good luck! :)

• Too late :( I already read their story... REALLY makes me HATE people. How could they??? Anyway, you're right that a Shih-tzu is NOT intimidating. They are actually quite good watch dogs - they supposedly used to guard Tibetan palaces - but they definitely won't be able to defend you. I just got home and read your posts about running... Because of the shorter noses and legs, they can't run terribly far. My husband tried to take Oscar running here, and had to bring him home halfway!
