Pronunciation

There is a man I work with, he is the entire accounting department for the company. He was just explaining something to me and told me he wants such and such done so he has record of the "cal-kul-ations". I dont know why, but the way he pronounces it drives me batty. Please humor me with words that drive you nuts like that?

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Had this discussion with FI a few days ago.  People pronounce the word "mischievous" mischevIous.  And it's not.  There's no i after the v.  Drives me crazy.

"So didjew hear about that?"Um, it's DID YOU - two words, not one. Also dislike adding an "s" to companies that don't have one. It is Nordstrom and Tiffany, not Nordstroms and Tiffanies.

oddly enough, I love when I hear aluminum pronounced like that. It usually is accompanied by an accent though, which hides a multitude of sins.

Right now? I'm hating on everyone saying "fer" instead of "for". I catch myself doing it and correct myself, but EVERYONE is doing it. Everyone. Seriously, say "for".
