S/O of Fashion Victim - Pashminas

I bought my BMs ice blue pashiminas to wear with their black dresses and now I'm thinking that I'll need something, too.  Should I get a pashmina in the same colour as their's or should I go with black or white? This is the one I got them: OR can I wear a black coat like this:Too much with a wedding dress?

Re: S/O of Fashion Victim - Pashminas

  • what does your dress look like again?
  • I would definitely do a pashmina instead of a coat.  I think the blue color would be pretty with a wedding dress.  White may clash and black may look odd.
  • I don't like the coat.  I mean, I like it.  But not with a wedding dress.  What are your colors?  I don't think it matters.  You can match, not match, wear a random color, no big deal.  I don't think I'd do black or white, but that's just my personal preference.

  • I should add that the coat would be for outdoor pictures as FI and I would like to do some in the snow (that is if there is snow).  The BMs pashminas are more for inside if it's chilly as we'll doing the bulk of the other pictures (WP and family) indoors. So, with that said, maybe I need both?
  • I got my BMs light green pashminas to wear with their black dresses and I got an ivory one for myself.

  • This is my dress:
  • Where is the link amoro posted yesterday hold on...
  • if it is for outdoor pictures i would try for a white (fake) furry bolero type deal, or maybe a cute little blue jacket that matches the pashminas? the black one will look like you just threw on any jacket and werent really prepared for that particular picture....imo. i could be wrong.
  • J&K - the colours are mainly black with the blue as an accent and a few silver accents. I kinda like the idea of a black pashmina rather than the white.
  • the black one will look like you just threw on any jacket and werent really prepared for that particular pictureGood point.
  • One of my fb friends wore a really awesome (and by awesome I mean hideous) faux-fur lined cape to her winter wedding.  Want me to ask if you can borrow it?
  • Yeah, no to the cape.  Thanks though - lol. Nebb, that's really nice, but I don't know that I could pull it off since I'm a bigger girl.  I'd be scared it'd excentuate my boobs even more.
  • I had a friend wear a cute faux fur white shoulder wrap with her dress.  It wasn't a very formal affair but it looked great.  You can see it in her photography blog here http://www.scotthayneblog.com/2008/04/mike-beckycruisin/
  • What about a silver pashmina?

  • I thought about silver, gkb, but all the ones I've seen look more like a dingy gray than a silver.IDK, maybe I'll have to buy cheap ones of each colour and try 'em out with the acutal dress.
  • Do you have a Carson's near you?  I just needed a pashmina for a wedding last weekend and they have a whole wall called 'social wraps' in every color.  I do remember some silver.

  • No Carsons.  My city doesn't have much, but I will be heading to Edmonton to some shopping in a couple of weeks so I'll keep my eyes open for something then. Thanks for all the suggestions!
  • For outside snowy pictures, I would get something like expatpumpkin has in her pics - a white furry wrap or jacket.  I wouldn't do the black jacket at all, at least not in pictures.Something like the fur caplet or cape on David's Bridal's website.
