Favors

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering what you all did or are planning to do for favors.  I keep procrastinating because I have no idea what to do for favors.
Thanks!

My dad, who passed away right before I got engaged, was on the board of a nonprofit org in the city. They've set up a memorial fund in his name, so we are making a donation to that fund and we will include a little card that describes why it was so important to him. The card will be attached to a little box tied with ribbon (that matches my wedding colors of course) that contains chocolates that match our theme.

Personally I don't like the idea of favors, just for the sake of favors. People don't usually want the junk anyway so my suggestions are to either offer something consumable that most people would want like candy, use it as an opportunity to decorate the tables and make it an extension of your theme, as a way to honor someone who has passed away, or to donate to charity.

We did boxes of chocolate truffles from my hometown.  They were decorated to match our theme, and I also used the favor as an opportunity to tie in something from home.

We thought about getting favors but we decided it's just a waste of money...

i am doing a summer wedding, so got little wooden fans for the girls and coozies for the guys. my cousin got married recently too, and her father is a wine maker. he gave everyone a wine glass with my cousin and her new husband's names and  c swirl of the eggplant wedding color. it was really very nice. and although i dont drink, sipping out the wine glass feels fun sometimes XP
