  • The BRAT diet works pretty well for me too, along with Sprite/7Up that's lost a bit of it's fizz.I hope you feel better.  At least it's not sunny at 80* outside...?
  • Oh, poor FI.  He's going to love his shopping list :-P

  • Thanks Mocha!  It's true, I'd be spending the day inside anyway, that's for sure.  I heard on the news it's worse up there than it is down here.  Hope you guys don't get too much!

  • Baked Potato & rice are frequent offerings at my parents house.  Personally, I crave grilled cheese when I'm sick to my stomach.  Or, cheeze-its.  And gingerale or cherry coke.

  • I'm so glad that you are coming to see me, but you better stop puking before you get here otherwise, you'll have to stay on the porch. Love ya.
  • A peanut butter sandwich always helps me.

  • I'm a little late on this but Ginger Ale is usually my cure-all for stomach issues. :D
  • A little late, but don't forget about Pedialyte. Yes, its designed for kids, but that makes it safe for you too.

  • It's not bad, but I haven't been outside yet.  Few inches but it'll melt in a day or two.  It's not sticking to the paved areas, just the grass.  Sure is pretty though, even though it means 6+ months of snow.
  • I was sooo not expecting this to get so many replies.  Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!Mocha, it is really pretty, definitely!

  • At summer camp, the kids were always umm.... "faking" getting sick so they could come get some Gatorade in the a/c'ed first aid hut. We caught on quickly, and switched the Gatorade to Pedialyte. Then they came when they actually were sick, not to get Gatorade. Long story short, Pedialyte will work the same way, and possibly even better than the Gatorade (I hate that stuff too). I'm a fan of Propel.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I like Propel too Missy, and I tried some really watered down earlier, but it didn't sit well.  I'm scared to try it again.

  • Missy, when I was still teaching I learned the pedialyte trick from the Red Wings trainer.  They've had some moderate sucess ;-) so I figured if it worked for them.  I still drink it when we're out sailing and sweating all day.  It's even less expensive than Gatorade.

  • Does it taste alright?  Any particular flavor you recommend?

  • J&K, by the time I'm sweaty and thirsty enough to be reaching for it, I don't care as long as it's cold and wet.  I usually just get the unflavored stuff.  I don't think there's any real taste, but, my allergies have pretty much left me with dead taste buds, so you may have a different opinion.

  • If it hasn't already been mentioned, the best food for someone with an upset stomach is the BRAT diet - Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast - I always stick to that, sometimes I will put a lil' smidge of honey on the toast though just to sweeten it up.
  • Oh, I didn't know there was an unflavored one.  Maybe I'll have him grab some of that because I don't do well with anything that's too sweet or overly flavorful, even when I'm not sick. Thanks!

  • aMrs, I just saw your married bio, for some reason.  Beautiful!  I love your dress, and I LOVE the photo with the coffee and the flowers.

  • Thank You! Believe it or not, the flowers and coffee was a candid shot the photographer took.  But he knew his bride and groom.  About 5 min after the ceremony he sent someone to go get us coffee (we got married at 9 AM)

  • a bit late to this...but along with the rice...you can mix in little chunks of boiled chicken. Hope you feel better soon!
  • When I was really sick, but super hungry, I toasted Pepperidge Farm mini-bagels. They were just the right amount of food to calm my tummy and fill me up. Also, if you eat and drink in small amounts, it doesn't require your tummy to work so hard, so it won't get angry as much. Drinking lukewarm-temperature beverages is also much more gentle. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better very soon!
