I'm extremely thankful that my college gave me a scholarship that covered my financial need with grant money.  Now that I'm in a PhD program, my tuition is covered by my department and I get a nice NSF fellowship stipend.  I second Scarlet on the "woohoo for natural sciences!".I've thought about changing to a different degree program, but the idea of accruing debt scares me.

I have student loan debt too. It sucks. I pay the minimum every month right now. If I go to grad school, I'll have more student loan debt. Yay.

Wow.  I was on the pay-as-you-go plan with 2 jobs and a little GI Bill assistance from my time in the Marines for my undergrad, and my current employer paid the tuition for my MBA.

For 4 years undergrad I have $56.  And I had scholarships.  Unfortunately my parents couldn't help much at all and yet they weren't poor enough to qualify for financial aid.  Lame.Fortunately Andy went to school for free.  Yay!

I'm a Davidson Wildcat! Second degree is from Belmont Abbey. Hell, I'll be paying that BAC degree with retirement income, I think......

Vogt- I changed my career path my last semester(right before I graduated from my previous school!) and now have 4 more years to look forward to. Would have been nice to have this figured out before then!I currently have around 70k in student loans. My bad though, for going to a Christian private school where I thought I "belonged". Should have gone to the state school... but hindsight is 20/20. I'll probably get around 60k more now and FI is on his way to around 50k.

Impressive, Davidson's a good school.  I'm interested to see if they'll have another Cinderella-story basketball season (although the bandwagon fans in the Charlotte area are really getting on my nerves and need to STFU).

I completely understand. I came out of undergrad debt free, had a full tuition waiver because of a GA and will still owe over 40k (before interest). Add in FI's huge student loans, and we will probably be on the 30 year plan.

Wow, this makes me really glad I decided to stay in Florida on Bright Futures.  Unfortunately UF doesn't participate in the "we'll give you extra money because you did well in high school" program.  That must have been nice!  I've had to work really hard to pay the rest of my expenses besides tuition, but it will feel nice to graduate debt free.

Alexia, I certainly wasn't implying that you didn't work hard, just saying I was jealous that UF doesn't offer the same thing   I had a free ride as well, and know that doesn't mean you don't work hard.  Sorry my wording came off the wrong way, as I know sometimes it can when something is typed!
