The crazy lady across the hall and her 8ish year old son are having a screaming match.  It just culminated in him yelling "I HATE YOU!" and her responding "YEAH WELL SOMETIMES I HATE YOU TOO!"Is it just me, or is never alright to tell your kid you hate him/her?!

It is NEVER ok to say this to a child of any age.  And if they say it to you, the correct response is 'I Love You'.

I would never tell my kid that I hate them.  That's a great way to cause some long term mental damage.

Yeah, the boy saying it doesn't surprise me in the least.  But talk about an inappropriate response on her behalf.  Then again, she's the same person who after she was asked to please stop her infant from flicking the door stopper because it made an incredibly loud "thwang" sound throughout the entire building responded, "She's an infant.  I can't stop her."  Because that makes sense.Parenting.  You're doing it wrong.

Yes, tlv, definitely an apartment.  It's awesome.  Ridiculously so.I don't even like kids, and I feel bad for hers.  Except when they're irritating me.

Not alright. A lady at the store last night yelled at her 10-ish yr old daughter, "You're so stupid!"  I wanted to slap her upside the head.  Instead, I moved so I could see what was going on, got the girl's eye and tried to give her an understanding smile.  Sigh.My faith in humanity was renewed in the parking lot, tho, when a guy ran like all the way across the lot to stop a  wayward cart from banging into someone else's car.

That is just an aweful thing to say to a child! What b---h! There are so many other ways to correct a child then verbal, mental and physical abuse! Thats just wrong!He only said that to her b/c she says it too him. Its her fault for having a bad or rude child, shes rude herself! Shes raising her kid to be that way!

Never say that to a child.  My 3 yr old will say I dont like you anymore.  If I tell her No to something, and I always respond with "Well I Love You".
