NWR: Random, creepy question

I'm helping out a friend who's doing a project on death traditions of the early 1900s. I know there is a website that is full of black and white old pictures of funerals, caskets, etc. I've googled it, but I just can't find it. I've seen it before in one of my classes, but I can't remember who even gave the presentation to ask what the website is. It doesn't have just old creepy pictures, but there's a lot of them. Halp?

Do you mean like victorian mourning portraits? Where the family stands around the propped up open casket? Or worse, where the dead body is posed and photographed? Google that. My great-aunt had one of those hanging in her spare bedroom of her little sister. That shite scared the bejeezus out of me and my little sister when we were kids. I'm pretty sure it'd still scare the bejeezus out of me as an adult, now that I think about it.

I think I'm a bad person. The dead people/babies creep me out, but the dead dog made me sad.

Bec, that sounds creepy! Both types of those pictures. But the website wasn't dedicated to those pictures, but I'll still google and see what I can come up with. Lol stina, it's for her early american history class

How about early american halloween history class? I love halloween, sorry! Oh and I actually have on occasion looked for dead people on line....I know, weird, but death is kind of fascinating. No, I don't want to die. But death, especially celebrity deaths are fascinating. Ok, yes, I am now creepy sounding....sorry!

I think the movie you're thinking about is The Haunting in Connecticut. I'm trying to find the pictures now. I know exactly what you're talking about though.

Yeah whit. I had a very sheltered childhood so I didn't know who certain very famous people were. To name a few, Chris Farley, River Pheonix, Kurt Cobain, etc. So I looked them up, found out what they did, then came across a weird website where you could see pictures of them where they were already dead. The links even said, don't look if you can't handle it, but I did anyway. WTF....why would people post these pictures on the web?! And WHY would I click the link to see?! So weird and wrong!

I've never seen A Haunting in Connecticut but The Others definitely had post mortem photography.  That's how Nicole Kidman finds out the new servants are actually dead-she finds their photos in the attic.
